Hebrews 12:25a NCV: “So be careful and do not refuse to listen when God speaks.”
Otherwise, we may only have a form of godliness, and when the shaking comes we may find ourselves without the POWER to stand up and face the problems! It may be the most surprising events in the lives of people who seemed to be devoted to the purposes of God until shaking came in their lives. It was as if they had no ground to stand on, and it became clear that “the form of godliness” or “acting like a Christian” had no power to hold them firm (to stand strong) in Christ! This shaking time will expose what was missing in their foundation, Jesus Christ. Watch what they are saying and it might come as a shock. Did they really live for Christ? Or did they just act out like one?
Hebrews 12:25b-29 NCV: “Others refused to listen to Him when He warned them on earth, and they did not escape. So it will be worse for us if we refuse to listen to God who warns us from heaven. v26. When He spoke before, His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, “Once again, I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” v27. The words, “once again” clearly show us that everything that was made—things that can be shaken—will be destroyed. Only the things that cannot be shaken will remain. v28. So let us be thankful, because we have a kingdom that cannot be shaken. We should worship God in a way that pleases Him with respect and fear, because our God is like a fire that burns things up.”
In this last hour, it is very important to “hear” and put God’s Word daily into our lives. If our faith is founded on the Rock, Jesus Christ, and we build on the Word, we will remain unshaken. One of the Holy Spirit’s secrets for overcoming during this “shaking time” is to keep quoting and confessing the Word of God! The other Holy Spirit’s secret is to keep singing whatever Holy Spirit brought to your mind and heart! Also be filled with Holy Spirit and let Him speak in another language just like the day of Pentecost. That is powerful, my friend.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, teach us to number our days since we are “seeing” so many signs through TV, newspaper and internet news. Thank You Jesus for warning us that “men ought always to pray, and not to faint (give up)” (Luke 18:1). Thank You for the kingdom that cannot be shaken. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen!
Have a good weekend!
