Good Morning!

"This is the day which the Lord has made; we
will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

Let us rejoice in our salvation in the Lord.
This is the day of redemption. Jesus saves!

God has been good to us since the day I started
the Bread Box. I was blessed to hear more and
more testimony of how the Lord has met their
spiritual needs at the right time when they
need it.

It all started when I want to help my friend
with a very short and simple devotion in the
early morning. Holy Spirit gave me an idea to
use the Bread Box Card verse. He would help
me with an inspiration along with the card
verse that I had drawn from the Bread Box.
I was truly blessed to do this and started
to share this with my friend. Then I shared
with few more. I felt impressed to send out
many more so I developed a Group with names
and use bcc so they would feel like it is
personal to them. It is awesome technology
that God has truly bless us with.

Today is the last Happy New Year of January
31, 2010 and may the Lord bless you with the
rest of the year. Let us trust the Lord with
all our heart, with all our mind, with all
soul and with all our strength. Let His love
flows into our beings and let us continue to
love Him and His daily Word. God bless you!

Weapons of our Warfare 4

“We destroy people’s arguments and every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:4c-5 NCV

The Scripture says: “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal.” Paul listed some of these weapons. One was commitment to the truth. The word “commitment” means hand over to be kept safe. The Corinthian Christians were in danger of being deceived by false preachers and accepting a distorted gospel (2 Cor. 11:4). Distorted gospel means “another Jesus or another spirit or another gospel.” So they did not keep “The Truth?” Paul encouraged the Corinthians to stay in one Gospel Truth which was the same Jesus that died on the Cross. The same Jesus rose from the dead. The same Jesus now sits at the right hand of the Father. The same Jesus Christ is coming again. That, my friend is the Gospel Truth!

I asked Tony, my husband to share with me “what commitment to the truth” really meant to him. His responded: Be faithful in reading God’s Word. Try to find the meaning of the word you do not understand. Read a few translations to compare and understand what the verse meant. (Really commitment means a little bit more work to study. Commitment was like make up your mind to study the Truth, God’s Word) Study the Word… Try to understand the Word…Practice by doing what the Word says…

By using this weapon “commitment to the Truth” against the enemy, the church (born again believers) will come forth victorious. Paul tells us to make sure that the Truth, God’s Word stays intact, not twisting any way that was already written in His Word. The word intact means with no part missing; untouched, and whole. So we are encouraged to remember Jesus’ Word, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).

Continue the Word

“If ye continue in my word, then are
ye my disciples.” John 8:31b Bread Box

What happen if we did not continue in
His Word? The song would answer this
question. Hope you’ll like it.

Song: Without him

Without Him I could do nothing.
Without Him I’d surely fail.
Without Him I would be drifting
Like a ship without a sail.
Je--sus, O Je--sus!
Do you know Him today?
Do not turn Him away.
Oh Je--sus, Oh, Je--sus!
Without Him, how lost I would be.
(Mylon R. LeFevre)

Wow! Does this answer the question
on how importantit is to continue
with His Word?

So trust Jesus today!

PS. Ooooo, this is good!
Thank you Holy Spirit!

we are all dead in every way.

Good Treasure

"The Lord shall open unto thee good treasure."
Bread Box Deut. 28:12a

Moses was giving his last speech to the newest
generation. They had come to the end of their
wandering and were now ready to enter the
Promise Land.

Moses said, "The Lord will open up heavenly
storehouse so that the skies send rain on your
land at the right time, and He will bless...
you" Deut 28:12ab New Century Version.

The new generation had been wandering in desert
and when they hear "rain" from "treasure"? That
was news to them. All they had seen was daily
manna to eat. So now they were called to trust
God's Promise by faith they had not seen. For
them, that was a big daring step to put their
faith in God.

How did I feel when I typed this? It feels
like something pull me out of negative
feelings, the way we think and step into
the daring faith in God. Oooo, that
feels good!

So trust God today!

Your Faith

". . . your faith has made you well."
Matt. 9:22c Bread Box 1/27/10

"Who touched Me"? Peter said, "Lord,
many people are touching you." But
Jesus said, "No, someone touched Me"
(Luke 8:43-48).

There were many hands touching Him
in the natural, but only one woman
touched Him in faith. When He saw
the woman and said, "Be encouraged,
dear woman. You are made well because
you believed" (Matt. 9:22b ncv).

How do we touch Him?
We touch Him with our belief and
our trust, when we depend on Him.

So touch Jesus today!

People With Peace

"The Lord will bless His people with peace."
Psalm 29:11b The Bread Box 1/26/

Why would God bless His people with peace when
we see a lot of things going on around the world
especially Haiti?

Because Jesus gave one of His prophecy from
Matthew 24 that earthquakes will come. It is
warning sign that Christ is coming soon.

At Haiti, earthquake had killed many parents and
left many children behind. So announcement came
for anyone who would adopt the child for free.

One Media news tells of a US family who were
thrilled to bring home a little Haiti frighten
boy into the loving arms of a mother. It was
like God was there holding the child. The parent
said that they could feel God's amazing love and
peace during the adoption time. God bless them
with peace because they had obey His Word to
help others.

So God bless us with peace when we mediate God's
Word. God bless us much more when we help others
understand His Word.

So trust God today!

Bread of Life

Jesus said, "I am the bread of life..."
John 6:35b Bread Box 1/25/10

Have you ever search for something
that try to satisfy that deep empty
feeling inside of you?

Know why?
Without Jesus, without "His Bread,"
our souls are dying.

Have you ever felt like a deep
hunger inside of you?

Know why?
Without Jesus, without "His Bread,"
our souls are really starving!

Jesus said, "...(you) that keep
coming to Me shall never hunger."
John 6:35c

So trust in God today!

Bread Box, What?

If you ever wonder what is a Bread Box? The tiny box looks like a tiny bread which has 3" length and 2" height (which hold the verse cards 3" higher). This Bread Box holds about 120 colored card and both side total of 240 verses. You could buy it at The Christian Bookstore.

This is my second purchase since I was a teenager in 1960's. The first one broke from an old Ceramic Box. The 2nd one is a plastic box and it has the same shape and colors. Amazing since 50 years ago and the Bread Box is still popular enough to keep it going!

Since June 2007, we moved to Bloomington, Illinois, the Bread Box is now put on my dresser in my second private bathroom (used to be on the kitchen table). I would take one or more verses at a time to fill my mind with God's Word at the beginning of the day.

Know why I do this? First thing in the morning, my mind has a choice. It is open to whoever gets me first: Satan's favorite "to do lists" OR Christ's Word, "The Bread" to feed my soul. It only takes a few seconds. I would lay it on the side to read repeatedly as I brush my teeth, take a shower and get myself ready at the same time this tiny card verse gets my soul ready for the day.

The dictionary define the Bread Box mean a container that keeps the bread fresh. So it makes sense to me to take a card verse from "Our Daily Bread" Promise Box and keep my mind, my heart, my soul and my inner spirit fresh when I come to Jesus as my daily Bread of Life. Like Jesus said, "If you keep coming to Him, you will never be hungry." John 6:35c

How about you? Have you come to Jesus this early wee morning? Even just to greet Him? It is an awesome sense of inner joy, inner peace and mind filled with His Word. It means a lot to me. Putting my thought on the card verse is the secret to avoid being moody. (Even includes study of the Bible, devotions, etc. at different times).

God bless you,

Dorothy

God's Comfort

"Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted."
Matthew 5:4 Bread Box 1/23/10

You are relief to know that God
will comfort you when you grief
over the lost one dear to your
heart.

You are thankful to know that
God will comfort you when you
are able forgive someone who
have hurt you very deeply.

You are grateful to know that
God will comfort you when things
don't go right and God will help
you go through them step by step.

Jesus used past tense "they shall
be comforted." It means God promise
to comfort you when you need it.

So trust God today!

Word Hid

"Thy Word I have hid in my heart, that
I might not sin against (You, God).
Psalms 119:11 Bread Box

Why Lord, do I need to hide Your
Word in my heart?

God said, "So you would not become
a moody or grouchy person! Be kind
and be nice to one another."

Without God's Word in my heart,
wrong thought influence me to do
wrong things that hurt God.

So I hide God's Word in my heart
to remind me not do wrong things
against my Heavenly Father.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for
reminding me that I may not
be moody today and be kind
to others.

So trust God to help you!

Hold Your Hand

"I the Lord (your) God will
hold (your) right hand, saying
unto (you), Fear not; I will help
(you)." Bread Box: Isaiah 41:13

Lord, I am trembling when I hear
troubling news from TV about the
weather in U.S. and in Haiti.

God said: I am holding you by
the right hand like a Father who
is holding a child's right hand,
saying to you, 'Do not be afraid.
Keep your eyes on Me. I will help
you relax in Me.'

Just picture God's hand in your
hand giving you strength to be
strong.

Keep Them Always

"My child, pay attention to My words...
Don't ever forget My words; keep them
always in mind." Bread Box 1/20/10
Proverbs 4:20a-21

Why Lord, do I need to pay close
attention to your Words every day?
God said, because . . .

"They are the key to life for those
who find them; they bring health to
the whole body." Prov. 4:22

So God's Word is like the key I
hold in my right hand; when I
open the door, His Word bring
life to my soul.

When the key, God's Word open
another door; His Presence
brings healing to my whole
body.

So trust God's Word today!

Guide Thee

God said: "I will guide
thee with mine eye."
Bread Box: Psalm 32:8b

What will tomorrow bring?
God said: I will watch over
you and be your adviser.

So many things to do and think
about? God said: I will counsel
you with Mine eye upon you.

Have problems with health?
God said: I will keep you
under Mine eyes.

God's eye on us means God's
caring and providing our needs
that we might overlook what's
ahead of us. God will take care
of tomorrow.

So trust God today!

Weapons of our Warfare 3

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Cor. 10:5 KJV.

Our warfare is casting down the imaginations that are not God’s ways. We need to be aware that God knows every thought and that nothing is hidden from Him. We will give an answer to God for our thoughts as well as for our words and our deeds. Just like my testimony from ‘Weapons of our Warfare Part 2’ of how God had corrected my wrong thinking about the famous person I had judged. Even when my thought was hidden from my husband, yet God read me. What was even more amazing, the perfect timing when God wants to correct me. God had me to get up so early in the morning and to turn on TV at the right time. God had me to watch the program that had given me the opportunity to see how wrong I was to judge the man God had dearly loved.

This famous person said that he had asked God to be with him as ‘his father’ because all his life he did not have a good father. So God became his father and the people have said that they could feel God’s presence in him. So when God sees my thought of wrong judgment, it is like God had turned His face toward me and woke me up to watch that program. God made sure that I know about this man that He had cared so much about. This really touched my heart to what kind of God that protects this man from my judgment. Even to take the time with me to make sure I know what I was doing was absolutely wrong.

Now, I believe God wants to talk to you about some things you need to be aware of. Through this experience, something inside of me, gain more respect to God is like the scripture that says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” May the Lord bless you as you study His Word.

Prayer: "O God, I am in trouble,
but You, God will REVIVE me in
Jesus' name. Amen"

". . . and Your staff,

Bread Box: Psalm 23:4c

The Shepherd will use His staff
to pull the sheep out of the big
hole they fell into. That is a
comfort to the sheep.

The Shepherd will use His staff
to reach the sheep from the cliff.
That is a relief to the sheep.

The Shepherd will use His staff,

Your Rod

"Your rod . . . they comfort me."
Bread Box: Psalm 23:4b

The Shepherd keeps an eye out on the
sheep and He will throw the rod or the
club ahead of the stray sheep to stay
close with the Shepherd.

That is our comfort that Jesus our
Shepherd keeps an eye out for us to
stay close with Him.

When a wolf comes, the Shepherd will
aim the rod toward a wolf to hurt or
scare off the wolf from attacking the
sheep. That is a comfort to the sheep.

When Satan comes, Jesus, our Shepherd
will aim the rod or the club toward
Satan to hurt him from attacking us.
That is our comfort.

My Bread Box is "the rod" that keeps
me close to Him and His Word.

So trust God today!

Bread Box: Psalm 37:28a

Do you ever felt alone?
God has not forsake you.

Do you ever felt abandon?

Has your friend forgotten about you?
God does not forget you.

Sometimes family has forsaken

God will not forsake us or left us or

Weapons of our Warfare 2

“And every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5 NCV

King James Bible quoted: “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” 2 Cor. 10:5

Our warfare is against spiritual forces of wickedness so what are the worldly weapons we should be aware of? Our mind is a battleground. All kinds of things come to our thoughts. What should we really do then? God’s Word from 2 Cor. 10:5 tells us to put down any imaginations in the thought that goes against God’s Words. If we want to capture every thought into captivity to Christ, begin with the Word of God that will show us the way of life.

One afternoon I watched a TBN program. There was one famous preacher that I didn’t like. One Saturday early morning I woke up alert around 2:30 am and felt an urge to turn on TBN which I normally do not watch TV in an early morning. I tune in the program and the director introduced the same famous person that I didn’t like. During the interview, the director was asking him several questions briefly about his life. What makes him so special that people could feel God’s Presence in this man. Through the interview, I got to know him better and I was shocked to learn where he came from and how he identified himself.

It was then I realized that the Holy Spirit had wanted to help me with my wrong ‘imagination’ about this man. Holy Spirit got me to watch the TBN and He was able to correct me. I realized I hurt God by wrongly judging this man I didn’t even know who he was. I felt ashamed and I asked God for forgiveness. He helped me put my wrong thought into captivity of dislike into obedience of Christ and God encouraged me to bless this man instead of judging him. My friend, ‘watch what you are thinking.’

Hear His Voice

"If (you) hear my voice, and open
the door, I will come in to (you).
We'll sit down and talk together."
Rev. 3:20b

Read His Word, the Bible. He is
talking to you through His written
language and the Holy Spirit will
open up the Word of understanding.
The fellowship become sweeter as
you listen to His Word of comforts.

So trust God today!

They that sow in tears shall

Tears are the relief from our souls.
Tears can touch the heart of God just

Tears In Bottles

". . . put thou my tears into thy bottle:
are they not in thy book?" Psalms 56:8b

Are tears valuable to God? Mary Baxter's
book, "The Revelation of Heaven" mentioned
about a special place where the angels store
your tears in the bottles on the shelf. The
angel took one of the bottle and the tears
were poured upon blank pages and it
became words.

Tears are the language that only God

God Our Refuge

"The eternal God is thy refuge." Kjv
Deuteronomy 33:27a "From the Bread Box"

The Lord God is a place where we can run
to Him when the enemy tried to destroy us.
That is a refuge, a place of safety is in God.

When we have problems, we run to Him for refuge,
a place where He can guide us thru our problems.

Abraham and still to us today.

May God guide you today.

Weapons of our Warfare

“We do live in the world, but we do not fight in the same way the world fights. We fight with weapons that are different from those the world uses. Our weapons have power from God that can destroy the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments and every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NCV

King James Bible quoted; “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal ...” Paul was talking about spiritual weapons that we need to have for our spiritual warfare against the carnal or worldly warfare.

The new year of 2010 will be the year of learning to trust God with our new weapons. God is our weapon. The Bible, God’s Word is our weapon. Jesus is our weapon. His blood is our weapon. Holy Spirit is our weapon, speaking in new languages. Our testimony for Christ is our weapon. God help us to stand with Him in the year of 2010.

Happy New Year!
