Series Three: Thy Kingdom

Matthew 6:10a "Thy kingdom come."

When Jesus said "The kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel" (Mark 1:15). Christ came to proclaim and brought the kingdom of God on earth. How? He was that kingdom of God in the flesh. The kingdom in Christ was His work of miracles. He revealed that the kingdom of God was here. Never before in history were those multitudes of people who were healed by Christ Jesus in those days.

The Pharisees demanded to know when the kingdom of God should come. Jesus explained that it was not something you see with your eyes or tell where it should be on earth. So Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:20-21). According to Jesus, the present nature of the kingdom of God is spiritual. We manifest or show how the Holy Spirit works in our lives to glorify Christ on earth. Wow! Our important evidence that we are to experience the kingdom of God is a life of "righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost" (Rom. 14:17).

When we pray, thy kingdom come, we are praying that God's power to destroy the works of Satan, to bring healing power among the sick, to save the lost soul, to promote righteousness, and to pour out the Holy Spirit upon His people.

When we pray, thy kingdom come, we are praying for Christ to return soon and to reign on earth (1,000 years of peace). We also pray for the future new heaven and new earth, Yes, Thy Kingdom come. Like Revelation says, "Come, Lord Jesus" (Rev. 22:20a).

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen (Rev. 22:21).

The Lord's Prayer Round:
Our Father which is in heaven. Holy be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Series Two: Thy Name

Matthew 6:9b "Hallowed be Thy name." (Holy be Thy name)

When we pray, we show proper uses and respect to His name. When we pray, we honor God’s name. When we pray, we glorified God’s name. When we pray, we exalted His name. His name is not to be used in profanity like we have seen on TV. They really degraded God when they do that. God's name is Holy! So let's exalt His holy name!

Song: Holy Is the Lord.
Holy is the Lord and mighty is His name.
King of heav'n yet down to earth He came.
Angels sing His praise,
All men (people) should do the same.
Holy is the Lord and mighty is His name.
(Author: unknown, song collection)

There are some songs that could be related to the name of God. Our inner spirit senses the awareness of God when we sing His name. Our God has a name so our worship touches God. Therefore God visits us when we sing His name.

The Lord's Prayer Round:
Our Father which are in heaven. Amen.

May the Lord bless you today!

Series One: Our Father In Heaven

Matthew 6:9a "Our Father which art in heaven."

Song: Awesome in Power
1. Oh, God,... awe-some in pow - er...
Oh God,... gen-tle in love...
Oh God,... You are my God ... and I love You...
2. Oh God,... full of com-pas-sion...
Oh God,... faith-ful and true...
Oh God,... You are my God ... and I love You...
(Rick Founds, collections)

This was Tony's favorite short worship of who God is. I would like to share the note from The Full Life Study Bible by Donald C. Stamps on Our Father ... in heaven. Prayer involves worship of the heavenly Father. As Father, God loves us, cares for us, and welcomes our fellowship and intimacy (private nature share as feeling close to Him); through Christ we have access (permission to enter) to Him at any time to worship Him and communicate our needs to Him. How He responds to His children depends upon our faith and obedience to Him.

The Lord's Prayer Round:
Our Father which are in heaven. Amen.

May the God bless you today!

The Lord's Prayer for me

I thought it was good to share this part for individual although I prefer The Lord's Prayer more often. Tony thought it was impressive and sometimes we use it over coffee prayer time. I made copy and put it in my purse because we can't remember that one.

Dr. Elmer L. Towns wrote a book called, Praying The Lord's Prayer for Spiritual Breakthrough. On introduction, he explained how he prays daily on the Lord's Prayer as a pattern, a way to pray. First, he explained his struggle in prayer until he tried the Lord's Prayer. He then went on to explain each part of the sentence that helps him to understand the purpose of the Lord's Prayer and to share with others. I suggest you check it out your local Christian Bookstore and show them the number of the book: ISBN 0-8307-2042-1.

The Lord's Prayer for Me.
My heavenly Father, may Your name be holy in me,
May Your kingdom rule my life,
May Your will control me,
May You be sovereign on earth as You are in heaven,
Give me daily bread for today's need,
Forgive my debts as I forgive my debtors,
Lead me not into temptation,
Protect me from the evil one,
Your kingdom rules in my life,
Your power can do anything,
And Your glory is forever and ever. Amen. (By Dr. Towns)

Key to remember about the Lord's Prayer: it is not a prayer to be repeated, but a pattern (a way) to enable us to include everything we are required to pray when we talk to God. Yes, The Lord's Prayer leads us to our heavenly Father first and we stop there for a moment to focus on God. Like the scripture says, "Seek God First." We use worship song for a moment and then went on to finish the Lord's Prayer.

No wonder Tony and I felt good when we pray The Lord's Prayer with all our heart, with all our mind, with all our spirit, and with all our strength. So our heavenly Father who is in heaven wants us to become familiar with the pattern of the Lord's Prayer.

May the Lord God bless you today!

The Lord's Prayer Rounds

Matthew 6:9-13 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed (holy) be thy name. Amen.

After being with Tony for various short prayers often in the early morning before we go out for coffee together, I had a question. Prayer! Is there a better way to pray? Hum? Then somehow, the Lord's Prayer came up. We sign together the Lord's Prayer. We felt good, but why? So I asked the Lord about it.

Sometimes later, it was a busy time to move from Apt two to Apt five in the same building. I noticed the book that I had kept and organized with the group of "prayers" for the purpose to check it out later. Well, that later was now! So I pulled out the book from the shelf, "Praying the Lord's Prayer For Spiritual Breakthrough" by Elmer L. Towns.

I open the first cover and I noticed the name written was Nancy Gipple of California who gave me the book as a gift in June 2002 at Phoenix, AZ Deaf Convention/National Deaf Culture Fellowship.

God bless Nancy's heart! Little does she know that a book as a gift would become a blessing to me! God was answering my prayer, knowing that the book, Nancy gave me was right on the shelf. Now nine years later, I pick the right time to read and to study the Lord's Prayer! By the way, Nancy Gipple went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, November 23, 2010.

Now that I realize God was answering my question about why we felt good to pray the Lord's Prayer. So I went on to read the "Foreword" by Dr. Yonggi Cho of Korea who had a breakfast meeting with Dr. Elmer L. Towns. Dr. Towns asked Dr. Cho about how to have prayer more effective. Surprise answers: Dr. Cho uses Lord's Prayer like a prayer round. Like a runner who jogs around and around a race track to get physically fit. He prays the Lord's Prayer rounds to be spiritually fit. Why the Lord's Prayer? It covers everything you need. Dr. Cho uses Lord's Prayer round and then, he prays two hours each day for prayer requests people send to him. (His church is the largest church in the world).

So now I understood why I felt an urge to pray the Lord's Prayer several times in the morning. I pray one early in the morning and again during coffee time with Tony and also on the way to work. Three times! So it was called, The Lord's Prayer Rounds and it is okay. I felt an urge because quoting The Lord's Prayer really help Tony and me when we just couldn't think of anything else to pray at that moment. The Lord's Prayer Rounds became a blessing to us.

The Lord is good, isn't He? Really! He is an awesome God! He knew I would need this simple book and God used Nancy Gipple to give me this book nine years ago when I need it at the right time in July 2011! May the Lord touch your heart today! God cares for you!

Lily of the Valley

Song of Solomon 2:1
"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."

Christ is often like the rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys--common flowers in the field. This expresses His presence with us in our common problems. Jesus is there when you need Him the most. I found another song called; He's the lily of the valley. I have heard of this song in the old days and I remember hearing church sang it, but I have almost never use it until now. It is because of the verse it has led me to search the title of the song that I remember. The words touched my heart and I pray it will touch yours. The words are encouraging. So here goes!

Song: He's the Lily of the Valley.

I have found a friend in Jesus,
He's everything to me;
He's the fairest of ten thousands to my soul;
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He's my comfort,
in trouble He's my stay;
He tells me every care on Him to roll.
He's the Lily of the Valley, the bright and Morning Star;
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
(Charles W. Fry, Sing His Praise)

Let the song lift your inner spirit to Jesus and
may He becomes real to you!

Altogether Lovely

Song of Solomon 5:16
"His mouth is most sweet: yea, HE IS ALTOGETHER
LOVELY. This is my Beloved, and this is my Friend ..."

Thank you Paula Hardy of Canada who send this song:
Jesus is altogether lovely!

Altogether lovely,
He is altogether lovely,
And the fairest of ten thousand,
This wonderful Friend divine;
He gave Himself to save me,
Now He lives in heaven to keep me,
He is altogether lovely,
Is this wonderful Savior of mine.
(Author: Unknown)

Dorothy:
If you are in pain, sing. If you are going through
darkest time, praise. For praise open the gate of
heaven and God dwells in the heart of praise. Do
not forget this. When you praise Him, you are silent
the enemy. When you praise Him, your inner spirit
rises to Jesus who is altogether lovely. Only Jesus
can heal you.

So trust Jesus today!

Sweet Jesus

Song of Solomon 5:16
"His mouth is most sweet: yea, He is altogether lovely. This is my Beloved, and this is my Friend ..."

He is altogether lovely means everything about Jesus is precious, desirable, and delightful. Song of Solomon gives the type of Christ's relationship between the future bride, the Church and Himself as the groom. The song, Sweet Jesus is a very old song and the words help to express our devotion to Him.

Song: Sweet Jesus
Sweet Jesus, sweet Jesus,
What a wonder You are;
You're brighter than the morning star;
You're fairer, much fairer,
Than the lily that grows by the wayside,
Precious, more precious than gold.
You're like the rose of Sharon,
You're the fairest of the fair,
You are all my heart could e'er (ever) desire;
Sweet Jesus, sweet Jesus,
What a wonder You are,
You're precious, more precious than gold.
(Paul Goodwin)
From song collections.

May the song touch Jesus' heart from you!
Each day is new. Open your heart to Jesus!
He loves you!

Freely Given

1 Corinthians 2:12 NLT
And God has actually given us His Spirit (not the world's spirit) so we can know the wonderful things God has FREELY GIVEN us.

Yesterday morning (7/19), when we were going to work, all of the sudden, Holy Spirit inspired me to sing this song (see below), after several days of devotions related to brokenness and tears. It is like the work of Holy Spirit upon my heart to sing the old song, 'I Surrender All.' I notice one line, "all to Him I freely give." That leads me to find the verse, freely given.

Reading from 1 Cor. 2:6-16 is about how God has revealed deep things unto us by His Spirit and the things that God has prepared for us, to those who love Him. Even it is hidden from Satan (v.8). The wonderful thing is Jesus, Himself, the Lord of Glory. John 3:16 reminds me of God freely given His Son to us for salvation. So we in turn, freely give ourselves to Him so that we could know the wonderful things of God.

When I sang this song, it was like Holy Spirit helps to lift my inner spirit to surrender something deep inside and give to God to handle something that is beyond my reach. It is like, let God mend it and fix it until our hearts are healed. I believe Holy Spirit wants to help you sing this song of surrender to Him. It is a beautiful feeling of Jesus' Presence. He wants to be there for you. So trust God today!

Song: I Surrender All
1. All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him;
In His Presence daily live.
Chorus:
I surrender all, I surrender all;
All to Jesus, I surrender,
I surrender all.

2. All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me Savior wholly Thine.
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine. (Chorus)

3. All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me. (Chorus)

God's Hand

Theme: God's hand wipe tears from your face.

Revelation 21:4 KJV
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

This is the future plan that God shall wipe away all tears from your eyes. Try to form a mental picture of God's hand upon your face, wiping away all your tears. Imagine! His hand touch your face, wiping away all your tears. This is an awesome thought and an encouragement that God does cares.

Where does our tears go? Psalm 56:8 tells us that God gathers all tears and put into His bottle and the tears are written in the book. God sees, knows, and records in writing all our troubles and sufferings. He keeps a record so that He can comfort and reward us according to our suffering on earth. We will reap joy and glory when we are with Him in heaven.

While we are on earth, the question is "Does Jesus Care?" Here's the answer to this question through the song. May the Lord bless and touch your heart!

Song: Does Jesus Care?
1. Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth and song,
As the burdens press, and cares distress,
And the way grows weary and long?
(Mirth means joyful time leads to laugher or too sad to have joy time)
Chorus:
Oh yes, He cares; I know He cares;
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Tears

Revelation 21:4 KJV
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

Some of my friends are going through so much tears, sorrows and sufferings. Sometimes words are not enough to express your feelings so you just feel compassion with them and pray.

When I was 24 years old, I was to give a farewell speech to my deaf friends. I got married on June 3rd and a week later, it was my last day on Sunday morning at the deaf church in Riverside, California when Tony and I were to leave for East to begin our first evangelistic ministry in Oklahoma Deaf Camp in June 1967. Our traveling ministry over USA was scheduled for a year and a half by Maxine Strobridge, the former National Representative for the Deaf of Missouri.

I could not think of what to say or even to write down the words. I was lost. Then somehow, I found a song called, "He Washed My Eyes With Tears." I wasn't sure why Holy Spirit led me to sing this song. It seems to express my feelings. But there was one problem. When I started to sign the song, my tears just flow and flow while I sang the whole song. I had to stop in between sentences to wipe my flowing tears and running nose. Was I embarrassed? I don't know because I just felt like a bawling baby. My tears were my expression of saying "good bye." It was also a song of exposing the feeling. After that, I felt different, something new, and some kind of adventures that God was using so much of my tears as seeds for a new breakthrough for something unknown.

Looking back now, I have seen so many things God has done. So here's an old song I kept for so many years ago.

May the Lord touch your heart and be able to reach out to others!

Song: He Washed My Eyes With Tears.
1. He washed my eyes with tears that I might see,
The broken heart I had was good for me;
He tore it all apart and looked inside,
He found it full of fear and foolish pride.
He swept away the things that made me blind,
And then I saw the clouds were silver lined;
And now I understand 'twas best for me,
He washed my eyes with tears that I might see.

2. He washed may eyes with tears that I might see,
The glory of Himself revealed to me;
I did not know that He had wounded hands,
I saw the blood He spilt upon the sands.
I saw the marks of shame and wept and cried,
He was my substitute for me He died;
And now I'm glad He came so tenderly,
And washed my eyes with tears that I might see.

Friend of God

Special Guest from Kim Johnson's Mold Me Devotion
Theme: Friend of God
Dorothy: I found a song called "Friendship with Jesus" so I add after Kim's "Mold Me" devotion. It is a blessing!

And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith. Genesis 15:6

For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” Romans 4:3

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Galatians 3:6

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. James 2:23

On Tuesday night my Bible study was last one for the summer. We "walked" through the first five chapters of Romans as our teacher (Pastor Bill Persall) helped us to better understand verse by verse. I learned lots, so I will share. I fell in love with how God viewed Abraham and his faith, that God was pleased with Abraham's faith, that he was called the Friend of God. God was pleased that Abraham chose to believe (trust completely) Him, and that was all God asked from him. So because of Abraham's faith, there are many nations. If not for the faith of Abraham, there would not be as many nations, and we probably would not be here.

Because Abraham walked in faith believing and trusting the Lord, God counted or credited him righteous. Abraham did not have to work hard to earn or win His favor. It was by his faith that pleased God greatly, and Abraham was his friend. How blessed Abraham was to have His favor because he walked in faith. We who believe in Lord Jesus Christ are made right or accepted, and even though we have not seen Him, He calls us blessed. As John 20: 29 says Jesus told him (doubting Thomas), “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.” He is pleased with us and our faith, and we too are His friends because of our faith or belief. We thank God for Abraham and his example. Let us learn from Abraham and how we can better serve our Lord, that we may continue to have His favor.
Thank you Kim Johnson!

Song: Friendship with Jesus
A friend of Jesus, Oh, what bliss (bless)
That one so weak as I
Should ever have a friend like this
To lead me to the sky.
Chorus:
Friendship with Jesus,
Fellowship divine;
Oh, what blessed sweet communion,
Jesus is a friend of mine.

Comfort and Suffering, Part 2

Chorus: The Comforter Has Come
The Comforter has come,
The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav'n, (heaven)
The Father's promise giv'n; (given)
O spread the tidings round, (spread good news to people)
Wherever man (people) is found,
The Comforter has come!
(Frank Bottome, Sing His Praise)

2 Corinthians 1:5-7 NCV
"We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ. If we have troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation, and if we have comfort, you also have comfort. This helps you to accept patiently the same sufferings we have. Our hope for you is strong, knowing that you share in our suffering and also in the comfort we receive."

Paul, through his writing letters (epistle) emphasizes that the Christian life does have the combination of the suffering and the comfort of Christ. The word, combination, combine means to be part of something as to become one; like one cannot be without the other. Example: combine the ingredients of a recipe.

Suffering and comfort come together as part of our Christian lives. When we suffer, we are partners with Christ and Christ is our comfort. KJV quotes, "ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation (to comfort in times of grief, distress, or suffering)." 2 Corinthians 1:7b

Paul asked Corinthian Christians to pray for him to endure the sufferings and he also know that they share in sufferings with him (2 Cor.1:11). So if any of you are suffering, ask others to pray with you that you may be comfort in Christ. KJV: "For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ" (2 Cor. 1:5) (Abound=fill with something).

Prayer card: LORD, I am asking you to help me to order my steps today. Make me strong, not for the sake of having strength, but to make me sufficient for the crisis moments in my life and in the lives of others who reach out to me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen!

Comfort, Part 1

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NCV
"Praise be to our God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the Father who is full of mercy and all comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives."

I find this word, "comfort" an interesting subject to think about. Why? I pick the card verse and this got my attention.

It would be good to share the note from The Full Life Bible Study by Donald Stamps. This note blessed me so it will bless you too!

Key: 1:4 Comfort us in all our trouble (tribulation).

The word "comfort" (Greek, paraklesis) means to stand beside a person, encouraging and helping him in time of trouble. God supremely fulfills this role; He sends to His children the Holy Spirit. He who is called "comforter" (Greek, parakletos; John 14:16). The apostle (Paul) has learned in his many afflictions that no suffering, however severe, can separate believers from the care and compassion of their heavenly Father (Rom. 8:35-39). God occasionally permits afflictions in our lives in order that we, having experienced His comfort, may impart (give) comfort to others in their afflictions.

Jesus said, "I will not leave you comfortless." --John 14:18a. Jesus will make sure you are comfortable! Awesome, isn't it?

So let God comforts you today!

The Creator Became My Savior

Jeremiah 32:27
"I am the Lord God of all peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?"
(QuickVerse Life Application Bible)

I was looking into the key note of Jeremiah 32:27 and why it was written. God spoke to Jeremiah about Israel and Judah (32:26-44), the prediction of Jerusalem's fall (v26-35) and a promise of restoration (v36-44). In case you like to read.

The other side of column, I notice that the notes of Genesis seems to fit what God says, "Is anything too hard for Me?" So I want to share some of the notes from QuickVerse Life Application Bible computer. I pray that you might understand some of this scientific (relate to) notes to appreciate how complicated God's creation were. And why He said, "Is there anything too hard for Me?" Here's the note:

"The simple statement that God created the heavens and the earth is one of the most challenging concepts confronting the modern (today) mind. The vast (huge) galaxy (universe) we live in is spinning at the incredible (wow) speed of 490,000 miles an hour. But even at this breakneck (very fast) speed, our galaxies (universe) still needs 200 million years to make one rotation (12 months or one year our earth rotate). And there are over one billion other galaxies just like ours in the universe.

Some scientists say that the number of stars in creation is equal to all the grains of all sands on all beaches of the world. To say that the universe "just happened" requires more faith to believe that God truly did create a wonderful universe.

God did not need to create the universe; he chooses to create it. Why? God is LOVE, and LOVE is best expressed toward something or someone else--so God created the world and people as an expression of HIS LOVE. Remember that God created the universe because He LOVES each of us."

Dot: So is there any wonder why God is asking all of us, "Is there anything too hard for Me?" I just say with my eyebrow raise, "I love You God for just being my Creator!"

Let's love our Creator! That is exactly what He wants! Just love Him!

Song: The Creator Became My Savior!
(Slow mediation song)
O how I love Him, How I adore Him,
My breathe, my Sunshine! My all in all,
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God's fullness, dwelleth in Him (Jesus).
(Author unknown, very old song memory of 40 years)

Anything Too Hard?

Jeremiah 32:27
Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: Is there anything too hard for Me?

I was facing with silence thought of questions in my heart, wondering why some of the prayers are not answered. (Maybe you thought the same thing?) I wonder when and if I would ever get healed on some part of my body.

Then Holy Spirit brought the word of encouragement and said, "Is there anything too hard for the Lord?" Then it became a creative song and encourages me to trust Him again. This get my thought off of myself and get into thinking what God can do and will do. Start quoting God's word again. Start praying for others who needs healing as well.

Inspiration song:
Is anything too hard?
Is anything too hard?
Is anything too hard for the Lord? (2 times)

No, no nothing is too hard.
No, no nothing is too hard.
No, no nothing is too hard for the Lord! (1 time)

God: Is anything too hard?
Is anything too hard?
Is anything too hard for Me? (2 times)

Dot: No way, no way, nothing is too hard for You, Lord.
No way, no way, nothing is too hard for the Lord.
Nothing is too hard for the Lord.
Nothing is too hard for the Lord! (Slow)

Thank you Lord for this word of encouragement and hope of healing in Jesus' name I pray, amen!

May the Lord heal you!

The Lord is Close

Psalm 34:18 NLT
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.

Indeed! The Lord God has a tender-hearted for those who are broken. Has God, our heavenly Father ever experiences brokenhearted? Oh yes! Do you remember watching "The Passion of Christ" and Melvin Gibson, the director who directed this film? Can you imagine the "heaven" watching the horror of severe beatings on the body of God's own Son? But the Scripture has declared that God was pleased that His Son was "bruised" for our sins (Isaiah 53:10). Why? It was because God knew that many will escape from going to hell through accepting His Son, Jesus Christ. So God, the Father understood the broken heart even when it is necessary to come close to Him. It is our total trust and dependence on Him when we need His comfort and love.

People have asked me this question. Why is God so close to you? My answer? It is through brokenness. It was 80 percent of our lives and the ministry involves "brokenness" in many different things. A broken heart and a broken spirit, God will not despised (Psalm 34:18). He has always mended our broken hearts and our broken spirits through His closeness to our spirits. We simply surrender our hearts to Him.

Perhaps you are going through a "broken time" like broken dreams, broken homes, broken hearts and etc. Just remember God is closest to those whose hearts are broken. You are precious to Him.

So let Him heal your hearts today!

Dorothy

PS. I remember a little of the old song of Tony's favorite chorus:
He died of a broken-heart.
He died of a broken-heart,
O wonders love for you and for me,
He died of a broken-heart.

Come and Rest

Matthew 11:28 NIV
"Come unto Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

That verse bless me since it felt like an endless days of putting things in order in our apartment. Yesterday morning on July 6th, I became weary and I picked the card verse. Jesus knew I need to hear Him say, "Come unto Me, all who are weary, and burdened, I will give you rest." Then I pause for a few minutes, allowing the Holy Spirit to flow the new strength into me and I felt so good and refreshed. I was able to get myself ready for the day. It is wonderful to have Jesus who knew how to help me in time of need.

Do you feel weary? Then hear Him say to you personally, "Come unto Me, all who are weary and burdened, I will give you rest." Yes, "I will give you rest." Hold that promises of His word rest and breathe in His name.

The word, rest has a broad meaning so I pick just one that impresses me. Rest means to place yourself for support. So we place ourselves upon Jesus who supports us with strength. Wow! What a thought!

Song: Come Unto Me
1. Hear the blessed Savior calling the oppressed,
"O ye heavy-laden, come to Me and rest;
Come no longer tarry (wait), I your load will bear (carry);
Bring me every burden, bring Me every care."
Chorus:
Come unto Me; I will give you rest;
Take My yoke (share) upon you, Hear Me and be blest;
I am meek (tender) and lowly (humble), Come and trust My might (strength);
Come, My yoke is easy and My burden's light.
(Charles P. Jones, Sing His Praises)

Two oxen share the yoke (wooded over the necks) and it makes the work lighter. Jesus said, "Take My yoke upon you" means you get into His yoke and He will share the lifting of the load so it won't get too heavy for you to carry it alone. Praise the Lord!

So let Jesus carry the yoke with you!

Sir, Can we see Jesus?

Good evening! It's still Fourth of July firework coming tonight all over USA! Trust you had and will have a good holiday! We went to Deaf Picnic and it was great and had a nice weather!

Now I tried to get that Bread Box done that was on my heart since 5 o'clock this morning when the Holy Spirit sang this song to me: "O I want to see Him."

"O I want to see Him, Look upon His face,
There to sing forever, Of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory, Let me lift my voice;
Cares all past, Home at last, Ever to rejoice.
(R. H. Cornelius, Sing His Praise)

This reminds me of: John 12:20-21 NIV
"Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the Feast. V21. They (the Greeks) came to Philip, ... with a request. "Sir," they said, "we would like to see Jesus,"

So Philip and Andrew led them to Jesus and told Him that the Greeks would like to see Him. Then Jesus immediately began to preach and foretell of His death. The Greeks kept His Word in their hearts even though they might not have understood it. But they got to see Jesus and heard His Word. That would be enough for them to sing:

"O I want to see Him, Look upon His face,
There to sing forever, Of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory Let me lift my voice;
Cares all past, Home at last, Ever to rejoice.
(R. H. Cornelius, Sing His Praise)

Let this song encourage you to look forward to see Jesus someday! It really encourages my heart!

The Father's Honor

John 12:26 NLT
"If they follow Me, the Father will honor them."

Reading this verse has put my hand on my heart when I realized what Jesus said, 'The Father will honor us when we follow Jesus.' I ponder. It was awesome and heart touching. I stop to think. What is the word, honor actually mean?

The Merriam-Webster dictionary gave me a good idea. 1: A good name or public admiration 2: Showing respect or recognition like having a dinner in honor of someone.

If you remember that many times when banquet comes, it often involves in honoring someone. I am thinking that it is possible that the banquet in heaven would involve reward given out and the recognition that the Father will honor anyone who follows Jesus. If you think about that, would it be awesome? Our heavenly Father will honor us? That should gives us a "boost" in our spirit!

Dear Heavenly Father, our hearts are touch that You would honor us because we follow Your Son, Jesus Christ. Your Word encourages us to stay true to Jesus. Your Word reminds us not to give up, but to keep following Jesus ... Jesus ... Jesus ... Thank You for the Word. In Jesus' name we pray, amen!

So we keep trusting You, Father today!

Dorothy

I was inspire to sing this,
Song: I Am Thine, O Lord!
I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice.
And it told of Thy love to me,
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Chorus:
Draw me near-er, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou has died,
Draw me, near-er, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious bleeding side.

Mercy by Special Guest

Happy July First! Kim Johnson has a good devotion on "mercy." So I thought to share with you if you haven't seen it. This is from Kim of Edmonton, Canada!

30 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” 31 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5: 30-32 Today's New Intl.Version

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” Matthew 5: 7 (KJV) "You're blessed when you care. At the moment of being 'care-full,' you find yourselves cared for.” Matthew 5: 7 The Message

Mercy is defined by Webster's Dictionary as: 1) compassion or forbearance shown to an offender or subject; clemency or kindness extended to someone instead of strictness or severity; 2) a blessing regarded as an act of divine favor or compassion; 3) relief of distress; compassion shown to victims of misfortune.

Allow me to share a lesson that I learned from my mom. Some years ago when my mother came to visit us here in Edmonton, Alberta. One morning I was driving with my son in front seat and my daughter in back with her grandmother when all of a sudden and out of blue a lady appeared on road, almost right in front of our van. She appeared to walk zigzag, and waved at us. I was fortunate to stop and not hit her, but I was upset, and she came to passenger window. Irritated, I told Syd to lock door, and not to talk to her. The lady appeared incoherent, but seemed to want to talk. Reluctantly, I rolled down window a bit, and even though she had a strong smell, my mom talked to her. Seeing the auto shop on left side (which we are their regular customers), I gestured, and told lady to follow us. So I turned left, and it was fortunate there were no other cars in sight, so not to jeopardize her life. Then at auto shop, I was the most agitated, but my mom was calm, and willing to help her. My mom got out of van, and led lady inside auto shop. The owner of shop was kind to call police so to come and give help to lady. So while we waited, my mom made effort and time to sit and talk with lady. Then my mom came, and told us that lady told her that she was a mother of five.

What I learned from it is that understandably I was upset that I could have hit her, but I didn't look deep enough to understand why she did this, that maybe she was crying out for help or mercy. My mom looked past her human errors (and even mine), and went into depth to understand the core of her soul. Looking back at this, she helped me to understand we need to overlook other people's faults, and understand their needs.

I love the story of Pharisees and tax collector Matthew when Jesus called him to become one of His disciples. Jesus told Matthew to come and follow Him. The Pharisees were disgusted or agitated that Jesus ate and associated with sinners. Jesus brought hope to those who were crying out for mercy, forgiveness, and love. I was like the Pharisees when my mother made the time, sat, and talked with the lady. Then when she came and told us she was a mother like us, that hit me like a rock. It was the nicest thing my mother talked about her, and I needed to see nice things about this lady too! I was grateful that at least she could get the right help and grateful that my mom made time and listened to her. We, who are merciful, care, or are compassionate, are blessed, and God promises His kindness towards us too. (Thank you Kim)
