Challenge?

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou can believe,
all things are possible to him that believeth.

The story of a father who came to Jesus for help.
His son who was bothered by demons. The father was
desperate since his growing son was a child.

Here Jesus challenged the father with a question:
IF YOU CAN BELIEVE. Believeth means keep on believing.
Two letters 'th' added to any words usually means "to
keep on." The father spoke the word, "Lord, I believe"
(V24). His son was healed (Mark 9:17-27).

This story challenges us with a question that Jesus ask:
IF YOU CAN BELIEVE. We say, 'Lord, I believe.' Jesus said:
'Then keep on believing.' Why? It will build your faith.
It will grow strong, and stronger. Every time problem
challenge you, you keep on saying, 'Lord, I believe.'
Even whisper and simply say, 'Lord, I believe.' Be at
peace that He has heard us.

So trust God today!

Song: Lord, I Believe
Lord, I believe, Lord, I believe,
Savior raise my faith in thee
'till it can move a mountain.
Lord, I believe, Lord, I believe,
All my doubts are buried
in the fountain.

Perfect Praise!

Psalm 8:2 NIV
"From the lips of children and infants You
have ordained praise because of your
enemies, to silence the foe and avenger."

He reminded us that singing put enemies to
silence and to be quiet and not to disturb
us. Matthew 21:1-16 tells us about the chief
priests and the scribes who complained against
Jesus when He allow the children to sing praises
to Him. They wanted Jesus to silence them. Jesus
said that if He silent the children, then the
rock will praise Him, anyway. So let's praise
Him through songs.

Prayer:
Heavenly, Father, may the Holy Spirit reminds
us that "Perfect praise will put enemies to
silence"! Thank you for the wonderful Word
of God as a reminder to keep in touch with
You. Thank You for Holy Spirit who helps
us day by day. Truly He is a friend!
In Jesus' Name. Amen!

Enter His Gates

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise: be
thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
Psalm 100:4 kjv

Come before His presence with singing.
Why? The scripture tells us: “Know ye
that the Lord He is God: it is He that
hath made us, and not we ourselves; we
are His people and the sheep of His
pasture.” Psalm 100:2b,3

Song: Enter His Gates
I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart.
I will enter His courts with praise.
I will say this is the day that the Lord has made
I will rejoice for He has made me glad
He has made me glad (2 times)
I will rejoice for He has made me glad
He has made me glad (2 times)
I will rejoice for He has made me glad.
(Song Collection: Unknown author)

Let us enter His presence with song,

The Lord Defends

"The Lord also will be a refuge for the
oppressed." Psalm 9:9a Bread Box 6/8/10

"The Lord defends those who suffer; he
defends them in times of trouble. Those
who know the Lord trust Him, because He
will not leave those who comes to Him.
Sing praises to the Lord who is the King
for Mount Zion (New Jerusalem).
Psalm 9:9-11a New Century Version.

Tony: We have been in the ministry 43 years.
We have seen God standing by protecting us
from all kinds of offensive attacks. We have
to admit that God is faithful to His Words
in defending us. We believe that God is
doing the same for you.

So trust God today!

John Northey of Canada reminded us of this
song: Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided--
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

Love Never Fail

“I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart.
God Most High, I will sing praises to your
name. Ps. 9:1a,2b.

So praise Me continually, for Praise worketh
Faith, and God inhabiteth the Praise of His
People. If ever I seem to be far from thee,
PRAISE! If ever darkness seemeth to press
about thee, this know,--thou hast neglected
to PRAISE ME. Love ME; pour out thy adoration
and worship. Be sure of this: LOVE NEVER FAILETH.
Loving Me never fails to bring Me to thy side. He
seeth Me most clearly who lovest Me most dearly.
(Come Away My Beloved, Frances Robert)

Interpretation: God is encouraging us to praise
Him continually because praise keeps our faith
up. God lives in the hearts of praise. If we have
ever felt like God is so far away, start Praising
Him! When darkness seems to weight down on us and
we don’t know what to do? We forgot something ...
Praise Him. Love Him. Adore Him. Worship Him. One
thing to remember: LOVE NEVER FAILS. When we love
God, He is beside us. When we love God most dearly,
we are able to see Him more clearly.

So let’s praise Him today!

Song: Never Failed Me Yet
Never failed me yet, Never failed me yet,
Jesus’ love never failed me yet.
This one thing I know that wherever I go
Jesus’ love never failed me yet.

Laid Down Lives

Paul wrote: "Greet Priscilla and Aquila
my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for
my life laid down their own necks ..."
Romans 16:3-4a kjv

What did they do? v.4a ncv "... risked
their own lives to save my (Paul's)
life. I am thankful to them ..."

Priscilla and Aquila were a hospitable couple
who opened their hearts and home to Paul and
others even at the risk of death. Priscilla
and Aquila were close friends of Paul.

Paul called them "my helpers (fellow-workers)
in Christ Jesus" and he explained what he meant.
They risked their lives in order to save him.
It was very risky to be part of Paul's ministry.
Why? Because the Christians were being persecuted
for their belief in Jesus Christ.

If the Roman soldiers caught Priscilla and Aquila
doing this, they would be killed. They risk their
necks mean they risk their lives for Paul. So
their friends could know Jesus as the One who also
laid down His life and died for them as well.

Prayer song: Lord, Lay Some Soul
Lord, lay some soul upon my heart,
And love that soul thru me;
And may I nobly (ever) do my part
To win that soul for Thee.
(Chorus: Leon Tucker)

May God touch your hearts today
because He loves you!

Laid Down His Life

"Greater love hath no man than this, that
a man lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13 kjv Bread Box 6/3/10

"The greatest love a person can show is
to die for his friends." Jn.15:13 ncv

Tony: "Really, Jesus was willing to die so
you can have salvation; you can go to heaven
when you die. There's more about the topic on
"laying down your life for your friends." So
tomorrow I will have short devotion."

Bill quotes from June 1st Bread Box devotion:
You could sing, "Jesus is everything to me."

Dorothy: Incredible! Amazing! I found an old
song called, He’s Everything to Me.
Chorus:
He’s ev-‘ry-thing to me, From sin He sets me free;
His peace and love my por-tion thro’ all e-ter-ni-ty!.
He’s ev-‘ry-thing to me, More than my dreams could be;
O praise His name for-ev-er, He’s ev-‘ry-thing to me.

1. In sin I once had wandered all weary, sad and lone,
Till Jesus thro’ His mercy adopted me His own;
E’er since I learned to trust Him,
His grace doth make me free,
And now I feel His pardon,
He’s everything to me. (Hamp Sewell)

Remember, Jesus loves you that much to "lay
down His life for you" so trust Him today!

PS. Just to let you know that today
is our 43rd Anniversary.

My Friends

Good morning! "You are My friends if
you do what I command you." John 15:14
ncv Bread Box 6/2/10 From Pager.

What is a friend? A friend is a person
who knows and likes another. A person who
favors and supports. A person who belongs
to the same side or group. (High School
Dictionary: Thorndike and Barnhart)

John 15:15b; 16b, 17 (ncv)Jesus said,
"I call you friends, because I have made
known to you everything I heard from My
Father. ... I gave you this work: to go
and produce fruit, fruit that will last.
This is my command: Love each other."

Jesus did not called us servants, but
friends. It is an honor for God to call
us friends and to share His Words with us
through the Holy Spirit. You could sing a
personal song to Jesus.

You are all the world to me,
My life, my joy, my all;
You are my strength from day to day;
Without You I would fall.
When I am sad to You I go,
No other one can cheer me so;
When I am sad ... You made me glad ...
You're ... my ... friend ...
(It is still Will's words with an exception,
sing to Jesus and based words from Will
Lamartine Thompson)

Prayer: "Jesus, thank You for being my
friend at all times. I feel close to
You. And I love You."

Trust Jesus, your friend today!

Jesus, My All

". . . Christ is in all believers,
and Christ is all that is important."
Colossians 3:11b (NCV)

There is a song called "Jesus is All the
World to Me." It has 4 verses and was
written in 1904 by Will L. Thompson. I
will use the first verse to share. The
verse is pretty simple to understand.
Jesus is all the world to me. "All the
world" means very important so you could
say, "Jesus is very important to me."
"All the world" could also mean everything.
You could sing, "Jesus is everything to me."
Jesus is always there ready to help us in
times of trouble, sorrow, etc.
(Thank you Pastor Bill Persall of Edmonton)

Song: Jesus Is All the World to Me
1. Jesus is all the world to me,
My life, my joy, my all;
He is my strength from day to day;
Without Him I would fall.
When I am sad to Him I go,
No other one can cheer me so;
When I am sad .. He makes me glad;..
He's ... my ... friend ...
(Will Lamartine Thompson,
from Sing His Praise Book)

It was really good to have Holy Spirit
that keeps us close to Jesus even with
the song.

So let's trust the Holy Spirit!
