Dorothy:
In the book of Isaiah, there were a lot of judgment against the nations and it was a very dark time. Yet God shows His mercy and hope of salvation through the coming of Messiah. He would be the light shines in the darkness (Isaiah 9:2,John 1:5). Isaiah wrote during the year of 700-680 B.C. Christ was born around 4 A.D. and Jesus grew into manhood and enter the ministry. The Samaritan woman at the well said, "I know that the Messiah is coming." (Messiah is the One called Christ.) "When Messiah comes, he will explain everything to us." Then Jesus said, "I am he--I, the one talking to you."
Isaiah prophesied of where the Messiah would be [Isaiah 9:1] and He met the Samaritan woman. She had heard of the coming of the Messiah and she actually met Him. Can you imagine the excitement that she went back to town and asked, "Do you think he might be the Christ?" So people left the town and went to see Jesus. So this was an excitement of "A New Day is Coming."
What this means to me?
I can't find words to explain how I felt about what I read. God communicated through Isaiah. Jesus communicated with Samaritan woman. May the Lord communicates with us today among the Deaf. We, Deaf are the last people to be reached with salvation of the Lord. A child was born to us. He came to save and live inside of us. I pray God's blessing be upon you in Jesus' Name. Amen
PS. Two more things: John 1:41 'The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and say to him, "We have found the Messiah."' John 1:45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the man that Moses wrote about in the law, and the prophets also wrote about him. He is Jesus, the son of Joseph, from Nazareth." So who was the prophets? Isaiah is one of the prophet.
Song: The Wonder of It All
Oh, the wonder of it all,
the wonder of it all.
Just to think that God loves me;
Oh the wonder of it all,
the wonder of it all.
Just to think that God loves me.
