A Glorious Church - Part 2

Verse for the Day:
2 Peter 3:14

KJV: Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that you may be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless.
NCV: Dear friends, since you are waiting for this to happen, do your best to be without sin and without fault. Try to be at peace with God.

Dorothy:

Look for what such things? And what are we waiting for this to happen? I read 2 Peter 3:1-13. Oh! One thing stands out is verse 12: 'as you wait for and look forward to the coming of the day of God' and also verse 13: 'we are waiting for a new heaven and a new earth.' So Peter is saying that when these things are going to happen in the future, we are to encourage ourselves to be prepared as "A Glorious Church" without spot and blameless. There's a chorus that I remember in old days.

Chorus: A GLORIOUS CHURCH
'Tis a glorious church, without spot or wrinkle,
Washed in the blood of the Lamb;
'Tis a glorious church, without spot or wrinkle,
Washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Note: Simply stated, the great blessing of God is perfection; God has chosen the believer to be perfect. But note: the believer's perfection is in Christ and in Christ alone. No man--not even a believer--can live a perfect and sinless life. No man is righteous or ever will be. Jesus Christ is the only Person who has ever lived a sinless and perfect life; therefore He is the only Person who has the right to live with God. Our only hope of ever living with God is to believe in Jesus Christ--believe so much that God will take our faith and count it as righteousness of Christ. This is the GLORIOUS GOSPEL; God loves us so much that He has accepted us in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. He has taken our FAITH IN CHRIST and counted it as the righteousness of Christ. Therefore, we are acceptable to God because we trust in Christ and in His righteousness--accepted as being perfect of Jesus Christ.

What this means to me?

That is how we have "A Glorious Church" because of our faith in Christ and we are counted as the righteousness of Christ. God has accepted us as being a perfect and "A Glorious Church" without a spot or blemish, a people without blame. We are a people without blame because of our faith is in Jesus Christ and Satan can no longer "blame" us. Satan has always been the accuser of our brothers before our God day and night as stated in Revelation 12:10. In Revelation 12:13 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of testimony. We are the one that overcome Satan through the blood of Jesus and quoting God's word to remind us of our faith is in Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
Oh Lord God of heaven, deliver us from evil surrounding of our days. Come Lord Jesus and take us home soon. We look forward for Your coming soon. Help us to stay in touch with You and be prepared through prayers and reading of Your Word. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
