Oh Lord Send the Power

Bread Box for July 12 2010
This was a surprise and it might encourage
you if you ran out of strength, too.

As of July 9th, I felt an overwhelming strength
ran out of my body when I sat down to work on
the checkbook. I set aside the checkbook and
start to pray. Suddenly, the Holy Spirit helps
me with words of prayer in a chorus.
Oh Lord, send the power just now;
Oh Lord, send the power just now;
Oh Lord, send the power just now,
And baptize every one.

4th lines from a song book:
As we go forth to the harvest,
Face the overwhelming need,
In our own strength we will falter,
For Thy Spirit now we plead.
Chorus:
Oh Lord, send the power just now;
Oh Lord, send the power just now;
Oh Lord, send the power just now,
And baptize every one.
(Charles D. Tillman; Gwen Jones, v.4)

Nehemiah 6:9b NIV (The enemy said) “Their hands will
get too weak for the work and it will not be completed.”
[But I prayed,] “Now strengthen my hands.”

I like the verse that Nehemiah prayed for strength when
his enemies tried to prevent him from finishing up the
Jerusalem’s surrounding walls. God answered Nehemiah’s
prayer and did gave him the strength to complete the
work on the walls. Whew! That was a big job to do.

The Lord bless you as He gives you strength for this day!
