Power of the Holy Spirit

Paul prayed: I bow my knees unto the Father, that He would grant you that he may be strengthened with power through His Spirit [Eph. 3:14-16]. Jesus said: Wait for the promise of the Father [Acts 1:4].

Pray for the Power of the Holy Spirit.

We need the Holy Spirit to influence our feelings, our thoughts, and our purposes so that the Spirit can manifest power through us mightily. How? Through Christ’s presence in our hearts; our deep love for God, Christ and for others is be rooted; and manifest Christ’s character in us. Especially when there is going to be more and more “falling away” Christians, it is not a time for us to panic. It is a time to remember that we have the power of the Holy Spirit that indwells in us.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we need fuller manifestation of the grace and energy of the blessed Spirit of God. I asked You to remove all our independent spirits within us and deliver us from evil and reveal Your will, so that we do not grieve the Holy Spirit. We pray that the Holy Spirit may work in mightier power in each of us, and lift up Christ in our lives that others may see Christ and want to accept Christ as their personal Savior. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!

Chorus: Waiting on the Lord

The pow..er! The pow..er!
Give vict’ry over sin
and purity within;
The pow..er! The pow..er!
The power they had at Pentecost.
