Ephesians 6:18 KJV: “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” NCV: Pray in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready and never give up. Always pray for all God’s people.
At first we learn what supplication really mean from the Fresh Manna, March 5th and now this one is “praying always with all prayer and supplication for all saints.” Why do we need to always pray with supplication FOR ALL SAINTS? We, the Born-Again Christians are always in “danger zone” because Satan is a wandering lion always looking for a small weakness to get to the Christians. If you have studied “the falling away” from February 2009 Fresh Manna, then you’ll understand that we have “dangerous zone” to watch for. Jesus said, “Watch and pray that we may not enter into temptations.” What kind of temptations should we look for and be able to pray for ALL THE SAINTS? First we need to understand our nature and what weaknesses we have. By nature we are weak and we lack the power: 1) for long concentration; 2) to avoid distractions; 3) to stop all wandering thoughts; 4) to prevent emotional changes; 5) to control different affections; 6) to know what lies in the future, even one hour from now; 7) to know what is really best for us and our growth in any given situation.
This is why we have “the Spirit to helps us with our weakness. We do not know how to pray as we should. But the Spirit Himself speaks to God for us, even begs God for us with deep feelings that words cannot explain. God can see what is in our hearts. And Holy Spirit is speaking to God for us because Holy Spirit knows our exact needs to tell God about specific weak nature.” When we allow the Holy Spirit to fill us with His prayers FOR ALL SAINTS, this will prevent Satan to take advantage of us. Thank God for Holy Spirit who will help us fight against the “roaring lion, Satan.”
