Good News! Part 4

Song:
Go tell it on the mountain,
Over the hills and everywhere;
Go, tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is born!

Isaiah 42:11b-12
kjv: Let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let
them give glory unto the Lord, and declare His praise
in the inlands.
ncv: They should shout from the mountaintops. They
should give glory to the Lord. People in faraway
lands should praise Him.

Dorothy: After Jesus had gone to heaven and after
the great outpouring of Holy Spirit. After the book
of Acts, I often wondered what become of other disciples
beside Peter and John who were called to spread the "Good
News" of Jesus Christ. Here is what I found from the Bible,
outline history of apostles.

The quiet workers were Andrew, Philip, Nathanael, Thomas and
Matthew. Andrew preached in Scythia, Greece, and Asia Minor.
Philip preached at Phyrygia. Nathanael was a missionary to
Armenia. Thomas labored in Parthia, Persia, and India. As for
Matthew, tradition says he died a martyr in Ethiopia.
The little known were James, Jude, and Simon. James, the
younger, preached at Palestine and Egypt. Jude preached in
Assyria and Persia. Simon, tradition says he was crucified.
Not much information, but we do know he was called to preach.
The inner circle were Peter, James, the Elder, and John. Peter
was an evangelist and a missionary among the Jews, as far as
Babylon. James preached in Jerusalem and Judea. John labored
among the Churches of Asia Minor and then banished at Patmos,
where he wrote Revelation. The last 12th disciple were Matthias
who replaced Judas and tradition says he preached in Ethiopia.

So they really proclaimed the "Good News" of Jesus Christ as
"Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere."
