The Lord is Close

Psalm 34:18 NLT
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.

Indeed! The Lord God has a tender-hearted for those who are broken. Has God, our heavenly Father ever experiences brokenhearted? Oh yes! Do you remember watching "The Passion of Christ" and Melvin Gibson, the director who directed this film? Can you imagine the "heaven" watching the horror of severe beatings on the body of God's own Son? But the Scripture has declared that God was pleased that His Son was "bruised" for our sins (Isaiah 53:10). Why? It was because God knew that many will escape from going to hell through accepting His Son, Jesus Christ. So God, the Father understood the broken heart even when it is necessary to come close to Him. It is our total trust and dependence on Him when we need His comfort and love.

People have asked me this question. Why is God so close to you? My answer? It is through brokenness. It was 80 percent of our lives and the ministry involves "brokenness" in many different things. A broken heart and a broken spirit, God will not despised (Psalm 34:18). He has always mended our broken hearts and our broken spirits through His closeness to our spirits. We simply surrender our hearts to Him.

Perhaps you are going through a "broken time" like broken dreams, broken homes, broken hearts and etc. Just remember God is closest to those whose hearts are broken. You are precious to Him.

So let Him heal your hearts today!

Dorothy

PS. I remember a little of the old song of Tony's favorite chorus:
He died of a broken-heart.
He died of a broken-heart,
O wonders love for you and for me,
He died of a broken-heart.
