If You Would Be Great!

If you would be great in God's Kingdom,
then learn to be servant of all,
If you would be great in God's kingdom,
then learn to be servant of all.
Learn to be servant of all;
Learn to be servant of all.
I'll open up a river
when thou art a giver
and learn to be servant of all.

Greatest Among You Shall be Your Servant.
Matthew 23:11
KJV: But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
AMP: He who is greatest among you shall be your servant.
NCV: Whoever is your servant is the greatest among you.

Mark 10:42-45
NCV: Jesus called them together and said, "The non-Jewish people have rulers. You know that those rulers love to show their power over the people, and their important leaders love to use all their authority. But it should not be that way among you. Whoever wants to become great among you must serve the rest of you like a servant. Whoever wants to become the first among you must serve all of you like a slave. In the same way, the Son of Man did not come to be served. He came to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many people."

DOROTHY:
While I was working at Taco Bell [part-time], a short song came to me on Friday. "If you want to be great in God's Kingdom, then learn to be servant of all." I considered myself a servant at Taco Bell that needs help with things. So what is the meaning of the word, servant? Person employed by another: Policemen and firemen are public servants. Person devoted to any service: Ministers are called the servants of God.

In my old high school dictionary, I looked up "serve" for more examples. I picked a few to give us an idea of what a servant does. Serve means to help; be useful; be what is needed. Service means helpful acts; aid; conduct that is useful to others. What Jesus was saying to His disciples about how to a become servant was to be useful and helpful to others. Jesus was useful and helpful to others through God's Word, through healing touch and other things. Like the song interpret: If you want to be a great person, then learn how to become useful to others. God would open up a river that flows from inside of you because you already start giving yourself to others. This is what God's kingdom is all about, serving others.

Sound the Battle Cry!

Rouse, then soldiers, rally round the banner;
Ready, steady, pass the word along;
Onward, forward, shout a loud Hosanna!
Christ is Captain of the mighty throng.
1. Sound the battle cry! See, the foe is nigh;
Raise the standard high for the Lord;
Gird your armor on; Stand firm, every one;
Rest your cause upon His holy Word. [Chorus]
2. Oh! Thou God of all, Hear us when we call;
Help us one and all By Thy grace;
When the battle's done And the victory's won,
May we wear the crown Before Thy Face. [Chorus]
Lyrics and Music: William Fiske Sherwin
DOROTHY: How does God "Sound the Battle Cry"? There are some examples I could think of. God warned the wise men in a dream not to go back to Herod, so they returned to their own country by a different way. God warned Joseph in a dream to leave for Egypt. Why the warnings? Herod killed the baby boys at Bethlehem. Why? Because the Wise Men did not come back to tell Herod where Jesus was. God warned Joseph to escape in time before the soldiers would come and kill Jesus. Jesus withstood the temptation against Satan through the Word of God and overcame Satan. What about us? God gives us dreams or visions as warnings to pray. Jesus gave us example how to overcome Satan through using the Word of God. Knowing the Word of God could make a different for us. For example: we tend to worry. God's Word said: Do not worry. This is a warning. This is a favorite tool of Satan, worrying. It is the opposite of having faith in God. God has answer for us how to be ready at all the time. Key is to pray that we will be strong.
Luke 21:34-36 Be Ready All the Time.
NCV: Jesus said: "Be careful not to to spend your time feasting, drinking, or worrying about worldly things. If you do, that day might come on you suddenly, like a trap on all people on earth. So be ready all the time. Pray that you will be strong enough to escape all these things that will happen and that you will be able to stand before the Son of Man."
PRAYER: Lord, we are scared about hearing the gas prices going up. Reading Your Word of God as a warning not to worry. I ask Holy Spirit for help to remind us what Jesus tells us to do like John 14:1 says, "let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe in Me." Thank You for peace and complete trust in You. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen!

Blessed Redeemer

Song: Blessed Redeemer
Chorus: Blessed Redeemer! Precious Redeemer!
Seems now I see Him on Calvary's tree;
Wounded and bleeding, for sinners pleading,
Blind and unheeding, dying for me!
Verse:
Up Calvary's mountain one dreadful morn,
Walked Christ my Savior weary and worn,
Facing for sinners death on the cross
That He might save them from endless loss.
[Chorus]
Lyrics: Avis Burgeson Christiansen
Music: Harry Dixon Loes

Titus 2:13-14 He gave Himself to redeem us.

KJV: Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
AMP: Awaiting and looking for the [fulfillment, the realization of our] blessed hope, even the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One, Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) from all iniquity and purify for Himself a people--to be peculiarly His own--[people who are] eager and enthusiastic about [living a life that is good and filled with] beneficial deeds.
NCV: We should live like that while we wait for our great hope and the coming of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. He gave himself for us so He might pay the price to free us from all evil and to make us pure people who belong only to Him--people who are always wanting to do good deeds.

Dorothy: Good morning! Dianne and Janet came to visit and to celebrate our belated 40th wedding anniversary on Memorial Day. We are so grateful for their presence and everyone was very delightful to meet with them. Holy Spirit woke Dianne to join with me, watching me working on Fresh Manna. She was so thrilled and blessed by Holy Spirit. Bless her heart for being a wonderful supporter in prayer.

Dianne: I am so thrilled to be here and I am so thankful for Holy Spirit keeping me alive through Fresh Manna. I love Fresh Manna.

Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us

Song:
Savior, like a shepherd lead us:
Much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,
For our use Thy folds prepare:
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are;
Blessed Jesus, Blessed Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.
[Lyrics:Dorothy Ann Thrupps' Hymns for the Young, 1836
Music:William Batchelder Bradbury]

Isaiah 40:11 Gather the lambs with His arm.
KJV: He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
NCV: He takes care of his people like a shepherd. He gathers them like lambs in his arms and carries them close to him. He gently leads the mothers of the lambs.

Note from The Full Life Study Bible by Zondervan:

God is described as one who picks up an individual lamb in order to protect it and carry it close to His heart (Matt. 6:24-34). Although God is all-powerful (v.10) and the nations are as dust before him (v.15), He still cares for each of His own in a personal way. We must never think that God is so majestic that He ignores the needs and problems of the individual believer.

Dorothy: On Sunday morning, I was leading the song service in a Deaf Church and the Holy Spirit was moving. We sang, "They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength" and then we wait on God because we felt God wants to speak to us. As we wait, suddenly I saw something that made me laugh a little. In a vision, I saw God came down in a Chariot, and parked beside the pulpit. He got off the Chariot and God wants to speak to us. So I gave the 'Prophetic message from the Lord': "I want to tell you that I really love you like I carry a lamb to my heart. You are close to my heart. Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust Me. I am the Lord your God who sits on the throne. I do take the time to come down to tell you how much I love you and you are close to My heart. Now I am going to leave in a Chariot and My blessing goes with you." In a vision, I saw God get on the Chariot and He went up and disappeared. It was awesome and our hearts were touched by God.

Wait On The Lord

Song:
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength,
They shall mount with the wings as an eagle. They shall
run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.
Teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait.... [Author, unknown]

Isaiah 40:31 - Wait On The Lord.

KJV: "... they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Notes from The Full Life Study Bible by Zondervan:

To wait on the Lord is to trust Him fully with our lives. It involves looking to Him as our source of help and grace in time of need [Ps. 25:3-5; 27:14; Luke 2:25,38]. Those who wait upon the Lord are promised: (1) the strength of God to revive them in the midst of exhaustion and weakness, of suffering and trial; (2) the ability to rise above their difficulties as an eagle that soars into the sky; and (3) the ability to run spiritually without tiring and to walk steadily forward without fainting at God's delays. God promises that if His people will patiently trust Him, He will provide whatever is needed to sustain (support) them constantly (1Peter 1:5).

Dorothy: Sometimes waiting on God's promises can make us give up hope. In New Century Version, Isaiah 40:28-31 says: "Surely you know. Surely you have heard. The LORD is the God who lives forever, who created all the world. He does not become tired or need to rest. No one can understand how great his wisdom is. HE GIVES STRENGTH TO THOSE WHO ARE TIRED AND MORE POWER TO THOSE WHO ARE WEAK. EVEN CHILDREN BECOME TIRED AND NEED TO REST, AND YOUNG PEOPLE TRIP AND FALL. But the people who trust the LORD will become strong again. They will rise up as an eagle in the sky; they will run and not need rest; they will walk and not become tired."

Prayer: Lord, we ask You for strength to continue to trust in You. We ask You to open our spiritual eyes to see who You are, "The Lord, the God who lives forever, who created all the world." Holy Spirit, we ask You to help us to become humble before Him and know that "No one can understand how great His wisdom is." Help us to love God and cherish Him and know that He has a great plan for all of us. Thank You for making us feel good inside. We know You feel good when we keep trusting You. Thank You and thank You again, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen!

Who Wrote This?

Song: How Great Thou Art
Then sing my soul, my Savior God to Thee:
How great Thou art! how great Thou art!
Then sing my soul, My Savior God to Thee;
How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
Verses:
1. Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
2. When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the tree,
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze.
3. And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.
4. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!
Carl Boberg (1859-1940)
Translated by Stuart K. Hine (1899-1989)

Dorothy: Tony often sang this chorus, How great Thou art! Have you ever wonder who wrote this song and where did the song came from? I discovered this from the book called, The One Year Book of Hymns, 365 Devotional Readings based on Great Hymns of the Faith. Wow! 365 days of songs and devotional readings about who wrote the songs and how they were inspired to write those words into songs.

Note: In 1886 Swedish pastor Carl Boberg was caught in a sudden thunderstorm while visiting a beautiful country estate. As the storm passed, giving way to the sweet songs of birds and a green countryside glistening in sunlight, Carl Boberg composed the nine original stanzas of this hymn.

In time the hymn was translated into German and Russian. It was noticed by a British missionary who was serving in the Ukraine. That missionary, Reverend Stuart K. Hine, often sang the song with his wife as they ministered there. Later they translated three stanzas into English from Russian and Hine himself added a fourth.

A New Name in Glory

Chorus:
There's a new name written down in glory,
And it's mine, O yes, it's mine!
And the white-robed angels sing the story,
"A sinner has come home."
For there's a new name written down in glory,
And it's mine, O yes, it's mine!
With my sins forgiven I am bound for heaven,
Nevermore to roam [astray].

Verse:
In the Book 'tis written, "saved by grace,"
O the joy that came to my soul!
Now I am forgiven, and I know
by the Blood I am made whole. [Chorus]
Song book: Sing His Praise
Lyrics and Music: C. Austin Miles

Luke 10:20b Jesus said:
KJV: "...rejoice because your names are written in heaven."
NCV: "...be happy...because your names are written in heaven."
AMP: "...rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven."

Dorothy: Jesus sends out the Seventy-Two in pairs into every town and place. Jesus wants each two to go and prepare the people's hearts to hear His Word before He comes into their towns. He gave them advice and send them off. They probably have been gone for several weeks. When the seventy-two came back, they were very happy that demons obeyed them when they used Jesus' name! Jesus gave them power over the demons. But Jesus gave advice not only be happy because the spirits obeyed them, but to be happy that their names are written in heaven [Luke 10:1-12,17-20].

Note from The Preacher's Outline: The Christian worker is to rejoice in his salvation, not in his power. Two things to remember: 1. The real basis for joy is not power, but salvation. The great privilege of a believer is not his work and ministry, but the fact that he is a child of God and has been given eternal life. He has been adopted as a son or daughter of God. [Gal. 4:4-6] 2. The believer's name is written down in heaven [Revelation 13:8; 17:8; 20:12; 22:19].

I Found The Answer

Chorus:
I found the answer--I learn to pray!
With faith to guide me, I found the way;
The sun is shining for me each day,
I found the answer--I learn to pray!
Verses:
1. I was weak and weary, I had gone astray,
Walking in the darkness, I couldn't find my way;
Then a light came shining to lead me from despair,
All my sins forgiven, and I was free from care.
[Chorus]
2. I was sad and lonely, all my hopes were gone,
Days were long and dreary, I couldn't carry on;
Then I found the courage to keep my head up high,
Once again I'm happy and here's the reason why:
[Chorus]
3. Keep your Bible with you, read it every day,
Always count your blessings and always stop to pray;
Learn to keep believing and faith will see you through,
Seek to know contentment and it will come to you.
[Chorus] Words and Music by Johnny Lange

John 14:1 - Jesus said, "Don't let your hearts be troubled.
Trust in God, and trust in Me."
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 - We have troubles all around us, but we
are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not
give up the hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does
not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 - Praise be to God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ. God is the Father who is full of mercy and all
comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when
others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort
God gives us.

Dorothy: Bless God, the God of all comfort, who comfort us
in our trouble time that we may be able to comfort others.
The word "comfort" means to ease the grief or sorrow of a
person by making him more cheerful and giving him hope or
strength. I pray that God of all comfort, will comfort a
friend who just lost her daughter this week. Through prayer
we are able to give support and strength to friend through
the work of the Holy Spirit who will comfort the grief.

Jesus, Sweetest Name

Song: Jesus Is the Sweetest Name I know,
Jesus is the sweetest name I know,
And He's just the same
As His lovely name,
And that's the reason why I love Him so,
For Jesus is the sweetest name I know.
[Author: Unknown]

Psalm 91:14-15 We Love Him and Know His Name.
KJV: Because he hath set his LOVE upon me, there will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my NAME. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honour him.
NCV: The LORD says, "Whoever LOVES me, I will save. I will protect those who know ME. They will call to me, and I will answer them. I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue them and honor them.

Psalm 119:132 KJV:
Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that LOVE THY NAME.

David's Prayer to the Lord. Psalm 119:132-136, NCV

Look at me and have mercy on me as you do for those who love you. Guide my steps as your promised; don't let sin control me. Save me from harmful people so I can obey your orders. Show your kindness to me, your servant. Teach me your demands. Tears stream from my eyes because people do not obey your teachings.

Dorothy: Last Sunday morning while I was leading the song service, we sang, His Name Is Wonderful. After that, somehow, Holy Spirit brought my memory of "Jesus is the sweetest name I know." I pray this short song will bless you today.

Anchored In Jesus

Song: I've Anchored in Jesus
I've anchored in Jesus
the storms of life I'll brave;
I've anchored in Jesus
I fear no wind or wave;
I"ve anchored in Jesus
for He has power to save;
I've anchored to the Rock of Ages.
[Author unknown]

Hebrews 6:17-20 NCV "An Anchor for the Soul."
God wanted to prove that his promise was true to those who would get what he promised. And he wanted them to understand clearly that his purpose never change, so he made an oath. These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he makes a promise, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. These things encourage us who came to God for safety. They gave us strength to hold on to the hope we have been given. WE HAVE THIS HOPE AS AN ANCHOR FOR THE SOUL, SURE AND STRONG. It enters behind the curtain in the Most Holy Place in heaven, where Jesus has gone ahead of us and for us. He has become the high priest forever, a priest like Melchizedek.

Tony Callies: When we believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God gives us His promises that He will watch over us and protects us from evil and harm. By reading His promises in the Bible, our hope increased in God more and more. We believe that God will keep His oath that He will keep and fulfill all of His promises to us. Rejoice! God has NOT, ...NEVER change His mind about His promises for us. Rejoice! We are on our way to Heaven, our future home.

Name of Jesus

Song: In The Name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus,
In the name of Jesus,
We have the victory.
In the name of Jesus,
In the name of Jesus,
Demons will have to flee.
Who can tell what God can do?
Who can tell of His love for you?
In the name of Jesus, Jesus,
We have the victory.

In the name of Jesus,
In the name of Jesus,
We have the victory.
In the name of Jesus,
In the name of Jesus,
Demons will have to flee.
When we stand in the name of Jesus,
Tell me who can stand against us?
In the mighty name of Jesus,
We have the victory.

Romans 10:13-15,17 New Century Version
As the Scripture says, "Anyone who calls on the Lord will be saved." But before people can ask the Lord for help, they must believe in him; and before someone can go and tell them, that person must be sent. It is written, "How beautiful is the person who comes to bring good news." So faith comes from hearing the Good News, and people hear the Good News when someone tells them about Christ.

Dorothy: Do you sometimes realize that we do not know how powerful the name of Jesus really is? So the question is: What can we do to correct this? The Bible says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and the hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). How can our faith in the Name of Jesus be increased? By hearing what the Word of God has to say about the Name. We need to study on God's Word until our faith rises to a higher level. Then it will be just as natural for us to act that Word as it was for Peter (Acts 9:34; Acts 3:12-16). Acts 3:16 KJV "And his name THROUGH FAITH IN HIS NAME hath made this man strong..."

Tony: I remembered preaching the "Name of Jesus" at Indiana Beach in with a deaf group in 1986 and we had video taping. Maybe I can check and see if I could convert them into DVDs.

His Name Is Wonderful

His name is Wonderful, His name is Wonderful,
His name is Wonderful, Jesus, my Lord.
He is the mighty King, Master of everything,
His name is Wonderful, Jesus, my Lord.
He's the great Shepherd, the Rock of all ages,
Almighty God is He; Bow down before Him,
Love and adore Him, His name is Wonderful,
Jesus, my Lord.
[Lyrics and music: Audrey Mieir]

Deuteronomy 28:58 New Century Version
Be careful to obey everything these teachings that are written in this book. You must respect the glorious and WONDERFUL NAME of the LORD your God.

Isaiah 9:6-7 New Century Version
A child has been born to us; God has given a son to us. He will be responsible for leading the people. His name will be Wonderful Counselor, Powerful God, Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace. Power and peace will be in his kingdom and will continue to grow forever. He will rule as king on David's throne and over David's kingdom. He will make it strong by ruling with justice and goodness from now on and forever. The LORD All-Powerful will do this because of his strong love for his people.

"The Name of Jesus" by Kenneth E. Hagin notes:
The Name of Jesus touched every part of the early believers' lives. The Name of Jesus filled a place in their thoughts, in their prayers, in their preaching that we are almost ignorant of today. Yet in our Christian walk, in our Christian life, in prayer, we have the same right to use of the Name of Jesus.

Prayer of Kenneth Hagin:
"May the Lord open our eyes and our hearts that we may know the riches of the glory of God which is hidden in that Name as we take special notice of its place in the believer's daily walk."

Sing Hosanna

Song: Sing Hosanna
Sing hosanna, sing hosanna
Sing hosanna to the King of kings,
Sing hosanna, sing hosanna
Sing hosanna to the King...

Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning,
Give me oil in my lamp I pray,
Give me oil in my lamp, keeping me burning,
Keep me burning 'till the break of the day.
[Repeat: Sing hosanna]

Matthew 21:5-11, 15-16 KJV "The Entrance Into Jerusalem"
Tell ye the daughter of Sion [people of Jerusalem], Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass [donkey], and a colt the foal of an ass [donkey]. And the disciple went, and did as Jesus commanded them, And brought the ass [donkey], and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way: others cut down branches from the trees, and strowed [scattered] them in the way. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, HOSANNA TO THE SON OF DAVID: BLESSED IS HE THAT COMETH IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city were moved, saying Who is this? And the multitude said, THIS IS JESUS THE PROPHET OF NAZARETH OF GALILEE. And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, HOSANNA TO THE SON OF DAVID; they were sore [very] displeased [unhappy], And said unto them him, Hearest thou what these say: And Jesus saith unto the, YEA; HAVE YE NEVER READ, 'OUT OF THE MOUTH OF BABES AND SUCKLINGS [breast fed] THOU HAST PERFECTED PRAISE?' John 12:12-13 KJV On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, HOSANNA: BLESSED IS THE KING OF ISRAEL THAT COMETH IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.

Dorothy: Hosanna means a shout of praise to the Lord. [Hebrew hoshi'ah nna means save now, we pray]. Just this morning, Holy Spirit sang, "Hosanna to the King". There's an excitement in heaven that Jesus is coming soon. Holy Spirit is the symbol of oil to keep us burning until Jesus comes again. HOSANNA TO THE COMING KING. SAVE US NOW FROM THE HOUR OF TROUBLED TIME, WE PRAY. AMEN!

Jesus I'll Never Forget

Jesus I'll never forget
what You've done for me,
Jesus I'll never forget,
How You set me free,
Jesus I'll never forget,
How you brought me out,
Jesus I'll never forget, no nev..er..
[Collection of Songs: Author unknown]

Psalm 119:16
KJV: I will delight myself in thy statutes:
I will not forget thy word.
NCV: I enjoy obeying your demands,
and I will not forget your word.
AMP: I will delight myself in Your statues;
I will not forget Your Word.

The meaning of STATUTE:
1. Established rule, law, decree.
2. God's Word, the Bible.
3. All through the Bible, it represent Christ.

Dorothy:
The short song, "Jesus I'll never forget" reminds me of a story about Peter and the disciples. From John 6:25-59, Jesus explained to the people that He was the Bread of Life and that they should "eat his flesh and drink his blood." The Jews argued among themselves and thought He was crazy, 'eat his flesh and drink his blood'? No way!

From John 6:60-69 was about "The Words of Eternal Life". Many of the followers had a hard time accepting what Jesus said. So they left Him. Verse 67-69 NCV: Jesus asked the twelve followers, "Do you want to leave, too?" Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, where would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One from God."

If Jesus had asked you this question, "Do you want to leave, too?" What would you say to Him? Would you say like Peter? "Lord where would I go? You have the words that give eternal life. I believe and know that You, Jesus are the Holy One from God."

Does it feel good to tell Jesus this? Only You have the Words. Jesus, I'll never forget what You have done for me. May your day be blessed with this devotion. Amen!

God Is Our Refuge

Tony Callies:
"The Lord is our refuge or protection"... against what? Who? [John 10:10] "The thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy..." The thief is Satan, himself. He is the one who tries to take away your health, finance and spiritual growth. He tries to kill you physically and spiritually. he tries to destroy your hope in God; destroy your reputation as a Christian, and things you owns. [John 10:10b] "...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Yes,

Jesus is your REFUGE and your PROTECTION against
Satan who hates you and wants to hurt or kill you.

Dorothy's intercessory prayer:
Oh dear Heavenly Father, help us to be strong in the Lord and in your great power. We put on the armor of God so that we can fight against the devil's evil tricks. We know that our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world's darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world. That is why we need You, God as our full armor. Then on the day of evil we will be able to stand strong. And when we have finished the whole fight, we will still be standing. Help us to stand strong, with the belt of truth tied around our waist and the protection of right living on our chest. On our feet we wear the Good News of peace to help us stand strong. And also we use the shield of faith which we can stop all the burning arrows of the Evil One. We accept God's salvation as our helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Help us to pray in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything we need. Help us to always be ready and never give up. Help us to always pray for all God's people, especially our Deaf people in U.S.A. and in other countries of the world. Thank You Holy Spirit for interceding for us. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen. [Ephesians 6:10-18 New Century Version]

He Hideth My Soul

Song and Chorus: He Hideth My Soul
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock
That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,
And covers me there with His hand.
Verses:
1. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord,
A wonderful Savior to me;
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock,
Where rivers of pleasure I see.
2. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord;
He taketh my burden away;
He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved;
He giveth me strength as my day.

God Protects His People.

Psalm 46:1, KJV:
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1-2 NCV:
God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble. So we will not be afraid even if the earth shakes, or the mountains fall into the sea.

Psalm 9:9-11 KJV:

The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou LORD, has not forsaken them that seek thee. Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
Psalm 9:9-11 NCV:
The Lord defends those who suffer; he defends them in times of trouble. Those who know the LORD trust him, because he will not leave those who come to Him. Sing praises to the LORD who is king on Mount Zion [Jerusalem]. Tell the nations what he has done.

"The Lord is our REFUGE?" Refuge? The dictionary explains:
1. Shelter or protection from danger, trouble, etc.
2. a person or thing that gives shelter, help, or comfort.
3. a place of safety; shelter; safe retreat.
4. action taken to escape trouble or difficulty.
Shelter means something that covers, protects or defends.

I Surrender All

Chorus:
I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
Song with Verses:
1. All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
2. All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
3. All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.
4. All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee,
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
Lyrics: Judson W. Van de Venter
Music: Winfield Scott Weeden

Dorothy:
This is a good song to use for altar call while Deaf people are still sitting during the time of prayer at the altar. While some goes to the front altar to pray, what do we do with people that stay in their chairs? Some have disabilities who were unable to stand. If someone take a lead in song, it helps to keep our inner spirit in tune with God. Just a few examples of the songs that I used to know from old days since 50 years. Songs selected from song book called, "Sing His Praise." I am Deaf and Holy Spirit is the One who inspires me to sing in my silent world of music. The Spirit of God moves while I use my hands in sign language. It bring me closer to Him.
1. Have Thine Own Way, Lord
2. I Surrender All
3. I Am Thine, O Lord
4. All I Need
5. Deeper, Deeper
6. Nearer, My God to Thee
7. Just a Closer Walk with Thee

Good morning, Mom!

Today is Mother's Day. A big congratulation to "Mom". I remember my mother. Many of us lost our "mom" and we missed them.

I remembered five years ago when I happened to be at Rockford, Illinois that Sunday morning on Mother's Day. I was asked to sing solo so while trying to think of a song to sing, I struggled with it. Finally, I asked Holy Spirit for help. He helped me to focus that it was Mother's Day. Suddenly, a new inspiration from Holy Spirit and He said to me, "I Could Hear My Mother Praying". Oh my heart melt. So I knew I had to get up by faith and allow Holy Spirit to take over the new story/poem. This is what I remember.

My mother had six children and prayed for no more. Then she learned, there is one more. She prayed God, Why one more? What child is this that You ask me to bear one more? Is six enough? Why one more? It is hard to bear six children and You ask me to bear one more? Dear God, I need strength to bring forth this special child that You ask me to carry nine more months.

My mother was praying for me while I was in her womb. She wept so often and wonder what child is this that she should carry. Day by day Lord, I need your help and strength to carry on. Finally, the baby was born, there was great joy. I still wonder, Lord what would be it like when she grow up? Oh my, she gets into everything, Lord. I prayed Lord, there are other children you could choose from, but why this child? She got into everything and gave me heartache so I prayed day by day for strength to handle her. I watched her growing into womanhood and I learned that You, God have called her into Deaf Ministry.

I was amazed that You have chosen this child of mine that I had carried and I had questioned You. Now I see Your great plan that she married an evangelist and had traveled all over U.S.A. and both of them had won many deaf souls. Oh Lord, forgive me for ever doubting You, what child is this that You would have me to bear one more. Now I gladly give her to You, Lord for all that You have done. I am glad that I have done Your will to bring her into this world to do great things for You. Many things, I cannot mentioned what she had done. Thank You Lord, for allowing me to be a special Mom to this child, You called me to do. I gladly bear this child, just for You Lord.

That is my mother, Daisy May Hottinger. I was born on Jan. 3, 1943, Dorothy May Hottinger and married to Anthony W. Callies since June 3, 1967.

His Name Is Higher

Song: [Author unknown]
His name is higher than any other
His name is Jesus, His name is Lord,
His name is higher than any other
His name is Jesus, His name is Lord,
His name is Wonderful,
His name is counselor,
His name is prince of peace,
The Mighty God,
His name is higher than any other
His name is Jesus, His name is Lord.

His name is higher, His name is Jesus.
Philippians 2:9,10,11
KJV: Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him,
and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
of things in heaven, and things in earth, and
things under the earth; And that every tongue
should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
the glory of God the father.
NCV: So God raised him to the highest place,
God made his name greater than every other name
so that every knee will bow to the name of Jesus--
everyone in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.
And everyone will confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord and bring glory to God the Father.

Dorothy:
Good morning! Blessed Holy Spirit for helping me to
worship God, the Father and God, the Son through the
song called, His name is higher than any other. Why?
This reminds me of John 14:13&14, Jesus said, "And if
you ask for anything in my name, I will do it for you
so that the Father's glory will be shown through the
Son. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do
it." New Century Version. Remember, yesterday's Fresh
Manna says in Rev. 21:5a, "..these words are true and
faithful." So what do we do with problems not yet solved?
Do we give up? Remind yourself: "His Words are true and
can be trusted." Speak the Words and believe. I am believing
with you, praying with you and loving you in Jesus' name. Amen!

God Is Faithful - 7

Song: He is My Everything
He is my everything, He is my all,
He is my everything, great or small,
He gave His life for me,
Made everything anew,
He is my everything,
Jesus, I love you.

God is still faithful. Revelation 21:5-6
KJV: And he that sat upon the throne,
said, "Behold I make all things new.
And he said unto me, [John] Write: for
these words are true and faithful. And
he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha
and Omega, the beginning and the end. I
will give unto him that is athirst of
the fountain of the water of life freely.
NCV: The One who was sitting on the throne
said, "Look! I am making everything new!"
Then he said, "Write this, because these
words are true and can be trusted." The
One on the throne said to me, "It is
finished. I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End. I will give
free water from the spring of the water
of life to anyone who is thirsty.

Revelation 21:7 - NCV
Those who win the victory will receive
this, and I will be their God, and they
will be my children.

Dorothy:
The Lord is speaking to us this morning.
Holy Spirit sang, "He is my everything"
and Jesus spoke to John of what He is:
Faithful and true. God is still faithful.
May the Lord stir your heart today as you
read this. Let it remain in your heart:
He is my everything. He is faithful.
He is true to His Word. Hallelujah!
May the Lord bless you real good and
be healed from all pains you are having
today. We are healed. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

God Is Faithful - 6

Song: I Shall Know Him
I shall know.. Him, I shall know.. Him,
As Redeemed.. by His side, I shall stand..,
I shall know.. Him, I shall know.. Him,
By the print of the nails in His Hand...
[Collection of song, author: unknown]

God is faithful. Deuteronomy 7:9

KJV: Know therefore that the LORD thy God,
he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth
covenant and mercy with them that love him
and keep his commandments to a thousand
generations.
NCV: So know that the Lord your God is God,
the faithful God. He will keep his agreement
of love for a thousand lifetimes for people
who love him and obey his commands.
AMP: Know, recognize and understand therefore
that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful
God, Who keeps covenant and steadfast love and
mercy with those who love Him and keep His
commandments, to a thousand generations.

Dorothy:
God is still faithful to us. I know the song
is about Christ, but remember God, the Father,
God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit are all
in One. The song just came to me and I was
inspired to sing it this morning since the
song reminds me of "KNOWING HIM". I pray that
your deep inner spirit has been revived by the
Holy Spirit. I pray that the Word encourage
us to remember: God is faithful.

What this means to me?
During the night, when I am awake, theme came
to me: 'God is faithful'. During the day, Holy
Spirit quoted: 'God is faithful'. I can't
explain how it feels. It was like the Word
penetrated my inner spirit to remember this.
It enlighten my soul to recognize that God
is God, like Deut. 7:9 says, "Know that He
is God, the faithful God."

God Is Faithful - 5

Song: Hear Christ's Calling
Hear Christ's calling, Come unto Me..
Come unto Me.., Come unto Me..,
Hear Christ's calling, Come unto Me,
I will give.. you.. rest...
I will give.. you.. rest...
I will give.. you.. rest...
Hear Christ's calling, Come unto Me
I will give.. you.. rest...
[Collection song, author: unknown]

God is faithful. I Corinthians 1:9

KJV: God is faithful, by whom ye were called
unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ
our Lord.
NCV: God, who has called you to share everything
with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.
ASL: God is faithful, who has called you to share
everything with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
AMP: God is faithful--reliable, trustworthy and
[therefore] ever true to His promise, and He can
be depended on; by Him you were called into
companionship and participation with His Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord.

Dorothy: The last few days has been about "God is faithful".
When I read God's Word, it reminds me of who God is. Especially
when we see news day by day and it could really discouraged us
by saying, "Where is God in all this?" As if God was just standing
by and doing nothing. Actually that is not true, but Satan wants
us to believe that. So how do we correct this? God's Word tells
us that He is true to His promise and He can be depended on.
Just check the Christians' news around the world what God is
doing and you will know that God is faithful by calling people
to accept Jesus Christ, His Son and to become friend with Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray that we all will 'hear' Your
calling inside of our hearts, to read Your Word, to sing
Your praise and to bring others to You. Also to encourage
others to build their faith in You. Bless all my friends
to keep in touch with You. We love You. We look forward
to Your coming, in Jesus' name. Amen.

God Is Faithful - 4

Song: Continue from Part 3
I know the Lord will make a way for me,
I know the Lord will make a way for me,
If I live a holy life,
Shun the wrong and do the right,
I know the Lord will make a way for me,

I know the Lord has laid His hand on me,
I know the Lord has laid His hand on me,
There is healing in His wing,
That is why I shout and sing,
I know the Lord has laid His hand on me.
[Collection of songs, author unknown]

God is faithful. I Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you
but such as is common to man: but God
is faithful, who will not suffer you
to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make
a way to escape, that ye may be able
to bear it.
NCV: The only temptation that has come to
you is that which everyone has. But you
can trust God, who will not permit you to
to be tempted more than you can stand. But
when you are tempted, He will also give you
a way to escape so that you will be able to
stand it.
AMP: For no temptation--no trial regarded as
enticing to sin [no matter how it comes or where
it leads]--has overtaken you and laid hold on you
that is not common to man--that is, no temptation
or trial has come to you that is beyond human
resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted
and belonging to human experience, and such as man
can bear. But God is faithful [to His Word and to
His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted]
not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed
beyond your ability and strength of resistance
and power to endure, but with the temptation He
will [always] also provide the way out--the means
of escape to a landing place--that you may be
capable and strong and powerful patiently to
bear up under it.

God Is Faithful - 3

Song: I KNOW THE LORD WILL MAKE A WAY
I know the Lord will make a way for me,
I know the Lord will make a way for me,
If I live a holy life,
Shun the wrong and do the right,
I know the Lord will make a way for me.
[Collection of songs, name unknown]

God is faithful who will keep you from falling.
Jude 1:24-25 NKJV
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
To God our Savior;
Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,
Both now and forever. Amen

Prayer:
Thank You Heavenly Father, for reaching many
Deaf in the world and that they will come to
know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and
grow deeper with You. I pray that You will help
them through the time of temptation that Satan
tried to lure them back to the old ways. By the
authority of Jesus Christ, Satan has no claim on
any new born-again Deaf Christians and keep them
in the path of righteousness. Help them to stay
true to you Lord Jesus and share the Gospel with
other Deaf through the 'ASL Storying' around the
world and we all love You. In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen. God bless you today.

'God is faithful, God is faithful.' Your Word says,
"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in
time of need [Heb.4:16]." Heal my friend who is in
the hospital and need miracle of healing. I pray that
the healing will flow into the body and that You, Lord
will fix it right. We glorify You in Jesus' precious
name. Amen!
