Philippians
1:3-4 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of
mine for you all making request with joy."
Philippians
1/6 "Being confident of this very thing, that He which has begun a good
work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
I
like the commentary to share in my own words. Joy is very important part of our salvation in
Christ. It is an inner peace and delight
in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and in the blessing that flows from
our relationship with them.
The
Scripture teaching about joy includes the following:
1)
Joy is having partners, friends or companions with the salvation God provides
in Christ and with God’s Words.
2)
Joy is delighted in God’s nearness.
3)
Joy flows from God as a gift of the Spirit. Therefore, it does not come to us
automatically, but is experienced only as we keep an abiding relationship with
Christ.
4)
Our joy becomes greater when the Holy Spirit mediates a deep sense of the
presence and nearness of God in our lives.
5)
Jesus taught that the fullness of joy is connected to our abiding in His Word,
loving others, and obeying His commandments.
Dorothy:
What does this means to me? I’m learning something that I never thought about
joy itself. I checked the technology
Bible and I was surprised to see 191 theme on joy. I might as well study them as time goes on.
Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, I pray for my friends and my families that You would bless
them and I thank You for them. I thank You that You have touched them with
healing power flows from You. And also I pray for the joy that will flow into
their spirits that they would know that it was Your touch of love. I pray for
those who lost their home and loved ones that You would comfort them. May Your love flows through the volunteers
who are helping them tremendously. I thank You for the works that You are doing
inside of us to grow in Christ and His Words of wisdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
Song: The Joy of the Lord
The
joy of the Lord is my strength
And
He is my life.
The
joy of the Lord is my strength
And
He is my life.
He
giveth me the victory
When
my heart is filled with praises to Thee.
The
joy of the Lord is my strength.
And
He is my life.
(Inspiring Choruses)
May
the Lord bless you today!
Dorothy
