Unique in Resurrection 7/11-15

11-15 July 2016 – Unique in Resurrection – Sharing from Studies - D.C.
            Dorothy: I thought you would like to see this and learn something. Unique means very unusual; special notice; only one of its kind; one and only. The Song was my favorite. See below.

               He Was Unique in His Resurrection – John 20:1-31
            John 10:17 Jesus said, “I lay down My life that I may take it again.”

            Key:  He stands alone among all the other so-called religious leaders of the ages: He alone was certified (to guarantee to be true) by God to be the Christ, by His resurrection from the dead (Rom. 1:4).  (NKJV “and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead”).
            (1)  According to the Old Testament prophecies that the Messiah would rise from the dead found in Psalm 16:10, NKJV “Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.” [Corruption means physical decay or rotting.] God will not allow Jesus’ body to become decay or rotting.
            (2)  Jesus had prophesied His own resurrection found in Matt. 16:21 NKJV “From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must … be killed, and be raised the third day.”
            (3)  He rose from the dead, although His enemies had made sure that the tomb was sealed and that a guard has been posted against the possible theft of His body (Matt. 27:62-66).
            (4)  He appeared alive first to a woman.  Perhaps He did this to honor those women who had wept and stood by Him, so faithfully and so alone, while the men forsook Him (John 20:11-19).
            (5)  His burial bandages were folded together in a place by itself in the tomb (John 20:6-7). This was a proof that Jesus had risen from the dead. Hallelujah!
            (6) Jesus appeared to His disciples several times and in different locations over the period of forty days. Christ has shown as a person in excellent health and full of energy and very alert. He allowed the disciples to examine His wounds, to see that it was He (John 20:27-29).
            (7a)  He arose on the first day of the week (John 20:1, 19). Since that day the Christian church has worshiped on the first day of the week to remember that God’s rest from redeeming the world … just as the Old Testament saints observed the Sabbath to remember that God rested from creating the world (Ex. 20:8-11).
            (7b)  There has been a discussion among some religious people who believed that there should be a Sabbath day to worship God, not on Sunday.  Here you have a proof of John 20:1 which was why Christian churches choose Sunday to worship God. I think that God rest from redeeming the world through Christ’s resurrection on the first day of the week, is really an excellent thought.
            Key: Truly, He Was Unique in His Resurrection. His resurrection was very unusual.  His resurrection is only one of its kind. His resurrection is one and only. Notice this: No other prophets has ever arose from the dead.  Amen!

Song: Christ Arose
     (By Robert Lowry, Sing His Praise)
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain, (place)
And He lives forever with His saints to reign;
He a-rose!  He a-rose! Hallelujah! Christ a-rose!
