Wonderful Part 1

I searched the word, "wonderful" from the technology Bible (only few) and discovered something interesting. Why was He called, "Wonderful?" Matthew 21:15 ". . . priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he (Jesus) did . . ." Isaiah 9:6 ". . . His name shall be called Wonderful . . ."

If I ask someone to explain the meaning of the word 'wonderful,' some might say, "awesome or great." I used 'Scholastic Children Dictionary' and find it much more helpful in meaning. The more we know the meaning of the word, "wonderful," the more we would be able to appreciate its outcome or result of the song, "Wonderful Savior."

Wonderful=1. causing wonder (the word wonders are used a lot in the Bible); remarkable, amazing, or impressive. 2. Very good; excellent.

Synonyms: wonderful
Wonderful originally described something that caused someone to be filled with awe or wonder. Now it also refers to anything that is unusually good: That was a wonderful party. Tony is a wonderful human being.

Interesting describes something that capture someone's attention like priests and scribes were capture by interesting things Jesus had done.

Fascinating describes something so interesting that you want to know more about it.

Delightful means highly pleasing: My friend Jan has a delightful personality.

Spectacular means dramatic and sensational: After the ball game we watched a spectacular fireworks display.

Astonishing describes something that causes great wonder or surprise.
