From Linda Martin's memory of song:
HOLD ON MY CHILD
(Author unknown)
Have you knelt beside the rubble of a weary aching heart,
When the things you gave your life to fell apart?
You're not the first to be acquainted with sorrow, grief
And pain, But the master promised sunshine after rain.
Hold on my child joy cometh in the morning,
Weeping endureth only for the night,
Hold on my child joy cometh in the morning,
The darkest hour means dawn is just in sight.
Dorothy: Devotion on "The God of All Comfort"
II Corinthians 1:3-7 (NIV)
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all COMFORT, v4. who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can COMFORT those in any trouble with the COMFORT we ourselves have received from God. v5. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our COMFORT overflows. v6. If we are distressed, it is for your COMFORT and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your COMFORT, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. v7. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings so also you share in our COMFORT."
Special prayer of comfort for Barb Reu's of Chicago, IL's mother, Ruth Koras passed away Tues morning (Oct 19). Barb Reu is well-known for her activity in Women's Retreat of Wisconsin. Linda Martin's memory song, "Hold On My Child" I had saved for the right time. I find the word "comfort" from niv technology bible very impressive so I want to share this with you. May the Lord comforts Barb Reu for the loss of her mother.
Trust God of all comfort for healing power in Jesus' name!
