Faith in the Son of God
I John 5:3-5
NCV: Loving God means obeying His commands.
And God's commands are not too hard for us,
because everyone who is a child of God conquers
the world. And this is the victory that conquers
the world--our faith. So the one who wins against
the world is the person who believes that Jesus
is the Son of God.
I John 5:4
KJV: For whosoever is born of God overcometh the
world: and this is the victory that overcometh the
world, even our faith.
AMP: For whatever is born of God is victorious over
the world; and this is the victory that conquers
the world, even our faith.
Notes from Preacher's Outline: Who is it that is born of
God? It is the person who believes that Jesus Christ is
the Son of God. The world is overcome by faith. Victory
is gained over the world by faith in Jesus Christ, by
believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Dorothy: What is in the world that we need faith to
overcome them? This is another subject to continue
the next devotion. This devotion is a reminder that
our faith is in the Son of God. Also how do we
overcome our problems? Faith in Jesus, hallelujah!
