1 Chronicles 16:28,
NLT, “O nations of the world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is
glorious and strong.” KJV, Give unto the Lord, ye kindreds (relationship of
same blood) of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.”(Ref: Ps. 96:7)
The word, recognize means to be
willing to admit; to notice; to know
again and to identify its character. The word, give is a very broad subject to
pick which meaning to use so I translate that give is an action to say
something about God. Be willing to admit that God is glorious and strong.
1 Chronicles 16:4, NLT “David
appointed the following Levites to lead the people in worship before the Ark of
the Lord by asking for His blessings and giving thanks and praise to the Lord,
the God of Israel.” Certain Levites were appointed to give continual praise and
thanks to God.
It was a story about David had
brought out the Ark
of God and it was a great day for the people. So David sang the psalms unto the
Lord. 1 Chronicles 16:23-33 is the passage parallel to Psalm
96:1-13. It is interesting to note that four parts of true thanksgiving are found part of the psalm: 1) remembering what God has done, 2) telling others about it, 3) showing God’s glory to others, and 4) offering gifts of self, time and
resources. If you are truly thankful, your life will show it.
*The basis of our praise is
declaring God’s character and quality in the presence of others. When we
recognize and affirm (to state positively) His goodness, we are holding up His
perfect moral nature for all to see. Praise benefits us because it takes our
mind off our problems and needs and focuses on God’s power, mercy, majesty, and
love. [*Note from QVLA Bible]
1 Chronicles 16:25, KJV “For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, He also is to be feared above all gods.” Do you ever recognize that praise and thanksgiving should be our regular part of our routine? When we praise God often, we will find that we won’t take His blessing for granted. We praise Him because we love Him. If you want His Presence, just praise Him because He dwells in the heart of praise. This is awesome!

Song: I Will Serve Thee
I will serve Thee because I love
Thee,
You have given life to me;
I was nothing before you found me,
You have given life to me.
Heartache, broken pieces,
Ruined lives are why you died on Calvary;
Your touch was what I longed for,
You have given life to me.
