March 31, 2014 - Cast
Your Burden to the Lord – Manna by Dorothy Callies
Psalm 55:22, KJV “Cast
thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer
(let) the righteous to be moved.” NLT, “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He
will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”
Even Peter encourages
us to “Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about what happens
to you” (1Pet.5:7 NLT). When we carry our worries, stresses, and
daily struggles by ourselves, it shows that we have not trusted God fully with
our lives. God spoke to my heart to share with you that we sometimes don’t
realize that we are carrying our burdens upon ourselves.
The word, cast means
to throw is like ‘to cast a stone’ or is like ‘to cast a fishing line.’ The
word, throw means to send through the air is like ‘a ball we threw over the
fence.’ So God is asking us to “throw all your worries and cares unto the
Lord.” Let’s pretend that you have a ball into your hands, and we look at the
ball and say, “I put all my worries and problems and sicknesses into the ball
and now I am throwing the ball unto the Lord’s hands and He will catch it.” In
the name of Jesus I will learn to “commit everything I do to the Lord. I will
trust Him, and He will help me.” (ref. Ps.37:5)
Praise the Lord! It
takes our humble hearts to recognize that God does cares. We need to admit our
needs and let God have our anxieties and learn to submit our circumstances to
the Lord who controls circumstances. Trust God who supports you to carry your
cares, worries, and problems. Remember to “throw your burden to the Lord.” Why?
It is because He cares for you.”
Song: Burdens Are
Lifted at Calvary
1. Days are filled
with sorrow and care,
Hearts are lonely and
drear;
Burdens are lifted at
Calvary,
Jesus is very near.
Chorus:
Burdens are lifted at
Calvary,
Calvary, Calvary,
Burdens are lifted at
Calvary,
Jesus is very near.
2. Cast your burden
on Jesus today,
Leave your worry and
fear;
Burdens are lifted at
Calvary,
Jesus is very near. (Then
chorus)
3. Troubled soul, the
Savior can see,
Every heartache and
tears;
Burdens are lifted at
Calvary,
Jesus is very near. (Then
chorus)
(John M. Moore, Sing His Praise)
