Strength - 5

Verses for the Day: Psalm 77:14-15
DAVID REMEMBERED THE STRENGTH OF GOD.
KJV: Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people. Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. AMP: You are the the God Who does wonders; You have demonstrated Your power among the peoples. You have with Your [mighty] arm redeemed Your people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah [stop, and calmly think of that]! NCV: You are the God who does miracles; you have shown people your power. By your power you have saved your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

Dorothy: David asked this question in Psalm 77:13 “…who is so great a God as our God?” [kjv]. Also from Amplified Bible says: “…who is a great God like our God?” The answer is verse 14-15 “You are the God….thy strength…and thine arm redeemed people…” NCV seems to give the answer: “... No god is as great as our God.” Any god that is made by the hand of man to worship the image, does not have the STRENGTH, or the POWER to save people from their soul and from their troubles.

What does the word strength means? The dictionary defines this: 1. quality of being strong; power; force; vigor (energy): [Samson was a man of great strength]. 2. something that makes strong; support: [“God is our refuge and strength”]. We often, have seen the word, strengthen in the Bible. It is interesting to know that strength(en) means make stronger or grow stronger.

Do you ever felt like God has abandoned us? Is his love gone forever? Will God never be kind to us again? Has God stopped speaking for all times? Has God forgotten mercy? Is God too angry to pity us? Has the power of God Most High left us? What was David’s answer to those questions? David said, “I remember what the Lord did; I remember the miracles You did long ago. I think about all the things You did and consider Your deeds” [Psalm 77:11-12]. David was remembering God’s help in the whole chapter of Psalm 77. David reminded people that God saved Israel from Egypt in the whole chapter of Psalm 78. David reminds people that God is our strength in time of trouble. God is strong. God has power. God is our ‘force’. God is our energy. God can do it again. We need to continue to trust Him.

What does this means to me? In time of troubles when we ask so many questions about God, be like David who remembers what the Lord has done for you. Hey, that reminds me of an old song.

One of song collection:
When I remember what the Lord has done,
I’ll never turn back anymore.
When I remember what the Lord has done,
I’ll never turn back anymore.
No, no! No, no, no! I’ll never turn back anymore.
No, no! No, no, no! I’ll never turn back anymore.
When I remember what the Lord has done,
I’ll never turn back anymore.
