O, I Want to See Him!

Chorus:
O, I want to see Him, look upon His face
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the street of glory let me lift my voice;
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.

Verse:

As I journey thro' the land singing as I go,
Pointing souls to Calvary, to the crimson flow,
Many arrows pierce my soul from without, within;
But my Lord leads me on; thro' Him I must win.
[Words and Music: R.H. Cornelius]

Acts 1:10b,11 NCV
... two men wearing white clothes stood beside them. They said, "Men of Galilee, why are you standing here looking into the sky? Jesus, whom you saw taken up from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you saw him go."
Acts 1:14 NCV
They all continued praying together with some women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, and Jesus' brothers.

Acts 7:55,56 NCV
55 But Stephen was full of the Holy Spirit. He looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at God's right side. 56 He said, "Look! I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at God's right side."
Acts 7:59,60 NCV
59 While they were throwing stones, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 He fell on his knees and cried in a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." After Stephen said this, he died.

Notes: Stephen Saw Jesus Standing
The Bible normally speaks of Jesus as seated at the right hand of God. But here Jesus stood up in order to welcome His first martyr to Himself. Stephen had confessed Christ before men and defended the faith. Now Christ, in honor of His servant, confesses him before His heavenly Father. For all faithful believers near death, the Savior stands ready to receive you as your intercessor and advocate.

Dorothy: What this mean to me? The song, "O, I want to see Him" encourages me that someday I will see Jesus. When I do see Him, I will see Him standing, waiting for me, welcoming me like He did with Stephen. Why does Jesus stand? He shows respect and honor those who stood for Him. He wants to welcome us just like He welcome Stephen. While we are on the earth, remember Luke 18:1 says we should always pray and never lose hope like the persistent widow. May God bless you with His Word of encouragement.

Great Big Wonderful God!

Song:
We've got a big wonderful God---
Great big wonderful God--
A God who's always victorious,
always watching over us-
Great big wonderful God.
We've got a great big wonderful God!---
Great big wonderful God---
A God who loves every one of us,
does so much for all of us-
Great big wonderful God.---
He never, never, never leave us,--
He's always standing by--
To pick us up if we stumble,
We're the apple (favor) of His eye.--
We've got a great big wonderful God!---
Great big wonderful God--
O what a glory it is to sing
Praises to the coming King
Great big wonderful God.

He never, never, never leave us,-
He's always standing by--
To pick us up if we stumble,
We're the apple (favor) of His eye.--
We've got a great big wonderful God!---
Great big wonderful God--
O what a glory it is to sing
Praises to the coming King
Great big wonderful God,
Our great big wonderful God.----
[song & Music: by Tim Spencer]

Acts 2:11b NCV ... we hear them telling in our own languages about the
great things God has done!
Isaiah 25:1 NCV ... Lord, you are my God. I honor you and praise you, because you have done amazing things. You have always done what you said you would do; you have done what you planned long ago.
Joel 2:26b NCV ...You will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has done miracles for you.
Psalm 40:5a NCV ... Lord my God, you have done many miracles. Your plans for us are many. If I tried to tell them all, there would be too many to count.

Thank to Billy Hallenberg who request this song because he remembered Tony and Dorothy sang this many years ago. Hope you will enjoy the Scriptures along with the song.

What a Friend!

Song: What a Friend We Have in Jesus
What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit, (forget)
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer:
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
[Words: Joseph Scriven;Music: Charles Coverse]

Jesus' Message: You are my friends.
John 15:12-17 New Century Version
12 This is is my command: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 The greatest love a person can show is to die for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know what his master is doing. But I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I heard from my Father. 16 You did not choose me; I chose you. And I gave you this work: to go and produce fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you anything you ask for in my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

Notes: Verse 16 GO AND PRODUCE FRUIT. All Christians are chosen "out of the world" to "bear fruit". This fruit-bearing refers to spiritual virtues, such as the fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Gal.5:22-23-love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control and conversion of others to Christ.

Dorothy: Wow! This is a great inspiration from the Holy Spirit I have ever received. It touches my heart to understand what Jesus is saying about being a friend. Jesus called us 'friend' not a servant. So what is the meaning of the word, 'friend'? The dictionary define friend as a person who knows and likes another; a person who favors and supports; a person who belongs to the same side or group. Another close meaning may be like companion, supporter and advocate.

Jesus choose us to produce fruit that will last. That is nine fruits of the Spirit find in Gal. 5:22-23 so we have work to do, to allow this nine fruits to grow inside of us. The kingdom of God is inside of us, getting us ready for His coming. Oh, I pray for my friends in Christ to produce fruit that will last. That is what Jesus called us to do this work: to go and produce fruit that will last. How? Prayer will water the fruit to grow. May the Lord touch you with this precious message that Jesus is our friend and we are His friends too.

We Are More Than Conquerors

Song:
We are more than conquerors thro' Him that loved us so.
The Christ who dwells within us is the greatest power we know.
He will fight beside us tho' the enemy is great;
Who can stand against us, He's the Captain of our fate.
Then we will conquer, never fear, So let the battle rage.
He has promised to be near until the end of the age.
We are more than conquerors thro' Him that loved us so;
The Christ who dwells within us is the greatest power we know.
[Word & Music: Ralph Richard Carmichael]

Romans 8:37
KJV: Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. NCV: But in all these things we have full victory through God who showed his love for us.
What is conquer? The dictionary says: 1. get by fighting; win by war: conquer a country. 2. overcome by force; defeat; get the better of: conquer an enemy, conquer a bad habit. 3. be victorious; be the conqueror. In order for us to understand the key verse of Roman 8:37, we need to read Romans 8:31-39.

The Spirit communicates God's love.
Romans 8:31-39 NCV
So what should we say about this? If God is with us, no one can defeat us. He did not spare his own Son but gave him for us all. So with Jesus, God will surely give us all things. Who can accuse the people God has chosen? No one, because God is the One who makes them right. Who can say God's people are guilty? No one, because Christ Jesus died, but he was also raised from the dead, and now he is on God's right side, begging [make intercession to] God for us. Can anything separate us from the love Christ has for us? Can troubles or problems or sufferings or hunger or nakedness or danger or violent death? As it is written in the Scriptures: "For you we are in danger of death all the time. People think we are worth no more than sheep to be killed." [Psalm 44:22] But in all these things we have full victory through God who showed his love for us. Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Dorothy: I pray that Holy Spirit open our hearts to understand the deep meaning of this verses. Jesus said, "Pray for strength against temptation". As for Paul, there are temptations to face, a battle to fight and things that could have made Paul give up serving God. But Paul said, "We are more than conqueror" which means, we can beat this thing. We do not allow things to defeat us. We do not give up. How do we do that? Through the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, and also that is in us. It takes love of Christ in us to conquer things that tried to destroy us. What things that Paul said to overcome? We need to read Roman 8:38-39 again because it explains what things that can stop us from serving God and also from having the love of Christ in us. Paul said that nothing would stop us from having Christ's love in us. We can be more than conqueror. Holy Spirit is the One who help us beat the temptation of things and keep Christ in our hearts against anything that tries to make us give up. Jesus said,'Pray for strength against temptation.' May the Holy Spirit gives us strength to fight things and to conquer or be victorious over it. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen!

Just Another Touch Lord From You

Song collection: Just Another Touch Lord From You
Just another touch Lord from you
To help in the trials I go through.
Though dark may be the night,
It brings a ray of light -
When I get a touch, Lord, from you.

Poem: WHEN GOD TOUCHED ME

When God touched me and said,
“It’s time to be with Me, please.”
“But God, there’s so much to do.
I can’t sit and be at ease.”

Suddenly I felt the pain in my heart.
In my spirit I saw God cried
Like a child, being pushed away.
I felt so empty and so dried.

“God, I didn’t meant to hurt You.
Oh, not to hurt you this much.
I get so confused and mixed up.
I am always in a great rush.

“Oh, God, how can I sit still,
And let all things go by?
Sometimes I wish I just go away
From everything. I want to die.

“So many, many things in my mind
Go round and round like a windmill.”
Finally I sat down and scolded myself,
“Listen to God and be very still.

“God wants me to rest and relax
From all turmoil and all tide.”
Suddenly things became strangely quiet.
I could feel all loosen up inside.

As I waited, I felt so very strange.
So restful, it was meant to be.
As I waited quietly before God,
That is WHEN GOD TOUCHED ME.

He gave me great peace of mind.
He filled my soul with great love.
Now I can truly enjoy my work
‘Cause God’s strength came from above.

--Written by Dorothy Callies in November 1981

Isaiah 26:3 KJV
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind
is stayed on thee, because he trusted in thee.
Isaiah 26:3,4 NCV
You, Lord give true peace to those who depend on
you, because they trust you. So, trust the Lord
always, because he is our Rock forever.

Don't forget Gethsemane!

Song: Lead Me To Calvary
Lest I forget Gethsemane;
Least I forget Thine agony;
Lest I forget Thy love for me,
Lead me to Calvary.

Verse 1
King of my life I crown Thee now
Thine shall the glory be.
Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow
Lead me to Calvary.

Jesus' agony in Gethsemane.
Luke 22:39-46 New Century Version
Jesus left the city and went to Mount of Olives, as he often did, and his followers went with him. When he reached the place, he said to them, "Pray for strength against temptation." Then Jesus went about a stone's throw away from them. He kneeled down and prayed, "Father, if you are willing take away this cup of suffering. But do what you want, not what I want." Then an angel from heaven appeared to him to strengthen him. Being full of pain, Jesus prayed even harder. His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. When he finished praying, he went to his followers and found them asleep because of their sadness. Jesus said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray for strength against temptation."
[Matthew 26:36-46; Mark 14:32-42]

Notes:
Mount of Olives, a hill covered with olive trees
near Jerusalem; site of the garden of Gethsemane,
Matthew 21:1;24:3;John 8:1;
David cried there, 2 Samuel 15:30;
Jesus prayed there, Luke 22:39-53;
Jesus ascended from there, Acts 1:6-12.

Dorothy:
I saw one of the collection song: Lead me to calvary. It touched my heart because I just felt like I don't want to forget His agony, His cup of suffering, and His prayers. Lest means if. So if I forget Gethsemane, if I forget His agony and if I forget His love, just remind me of Calvary. Remember Calvary! In a vision, lead me to Calvary. Just don't forget Gethsemane. Why? Where will Jesus comes again? To the Mount of Olives, the very same garden of Gethsemane where He spent a lot time in prayers and in meditation. Notice this: Jesus said, "Pray for strength against temptation" two times. You may wonder, what should I pray for today? Pray for strength against temptation. You may ask, what temptation? Too busy to pray, too lazy to pray, not keeping in touch with Holy Spirit, and other things. Just remind ourselves to stay in touch with Holy Spirit. Pray for strength to fight against our flesh and be an overcomer for Jesus. Amen! Have a good day!

God Is Our Refuge

Psalm 59:16,17
KJV: … I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble. Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.
AMP: … I will sing of Your mighty strength and power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy and loving-kindness in the morning; for You have been to me a defense—a fortress and a high tower—and a refuge in the day of my distress. Unto You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; for God is my defense, my fortress and high tower, the God Who shows me mercy and steadfast love.
NCV: … I will sing about your strength. In the morning I will sing about your love. You are my defender, my place of safety in times of trouble. God, my strength, I will sing praises to you. God, my defender, you are the God who loves me.

Psalm 46:1
AMP: God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation] a very present and well-proved help in trouble.
NCV: God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble.

Different short choruses related to:
God is a refuge for us [Psalm 62:8c].

The Solid Rock
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
[Mote, 1797-1874 and Bradbury, 1816-1868]

The Haven of Rest
I’ve anchored my soul in the Haven of Rest,
I’ll sail the wild seas no more;
The tempest may sweep o’er the wild stormy deep,
In Jesus I’m safe evermore.
[Gilmour, 1836-1920 and Moore, 19th Century]

A Shelter in the Time of Storm
Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land,
A weary land, a weary land;
Oh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land,
A shelter in the time of storm.
[Charlesworth, 1839-? and Sankey, 1840-1908]

Dorothy:
May the Lord keep our inner peace during the trouble times of what we have seen in the newspaper that “alarmed” us. Keep our eyes on Christ, who is our solid Rock. In Jesus, we sensed deep rest, a place of rest from troubled news. Weary land could represent constant problems like changing of weathers, wars, troubled areas [crime], etc. The songs remind us that Christ is the Rock, and the Place of Rest, we can turn to. God bless you.

If You Know the Lord

Song: If You Know the Lord
If you know the Lord,
You need nobody else,
To see you through
the darkest night.
You can walk alone,
you only need the Lord
To keep you on the road
marked right.
Take time to pray, every day;
And when you’re heading home,
He’ll show you the way.
If you know the Lord,
You need nobody else,
To see the Light,
God’s wonderful Light.
[Collection of song]

New International Version
Psalm 83:18
Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD—that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.

Psalm 100:3
Know that the Lord is God. It is he, who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Psalm 135:5
I know that the Lord is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods.

Isaiah 49:26b
... All mankind will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty one of Jacob.

Dorothy:
Mahesh Chavda who is the pastor of "All Nations Church" in Charlotte, North Carolina, gave a testimony on TBN on Tuesday evening, June 17, 2008. He was being interviewed and he explained about his upbringing Hindu with his family. He and his mother went to the Shrine to worship their Hindu god. Mahesh had a deep hunger for truth and he prayed to someone higher to show him the truth. Later on, he told of how a missionary's wife had stopped at his home, knocked on the door, and asked for a free water to drink. Mahesh gave her a glass of water to drink and then the lady gave him the Bible. He began to study the Word and Mahesh saw the Light, God's wonderful Light that Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life." He gave up the Hindu god and came to know the Lord as his personal Savior. Mahesh did not need Hindu god. He found the truth, that is Jesus Christ.

Sing and Smile and Pray

Song: Sing and Smile and Pray the Clouds Away
1. Sing the clouds away, night will turn to day;
If you sing and sing and sing, You'll sing the clouds away.

2. Smile the clouds away, night will turn to day;
If you smile and smile and smile, You'll smile the clouds away.

3. Pray the clouds away, Pray and pray and pray;
Night will turn to day, No matter what they say.

4. Sing and smile and pray, that's the only way!
If you sing and smile and pray, You'll drive the clouds away.
[Written by The Brocks, 1934]

Psalm 42:8
KJV: The Lord will command his loving kindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
NCV: The Lord shows his true love every day. At night I have a song, and I pray to my living God.

Acts 16:25-26
KJV: And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
NCV: About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing songs to God as the other prisoners listened. Suddenly, there was a strong earthquake that shook the foundation of the jail. Then all the doors of the jail broke open, and all the prisoners were freed from their chains.

James 5:13
KJV: Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
NCV: Anyone who is having troubles should pray. Anyone who is happy should sing praises.

Dorothy:
Wow! There's a discerning of the spirit showing me the deeper meaning of Paul and Silas' prayer and song that not only just two of them were set free from their chains and the jail doors were opened. But for all other prisoners, too. Why? They had seen the power of God freed them from their chains when Paul and Silas pray and sang. Their prayers and songs set the captives free. The jailer saw all that was happening and he and his family got saved. Praise the Lord! May this devotion touch your heart to pray and sing so others will be set free because of you in Jesus' Name. Amen!

Keep on Believing

Song Collection:
Keep on believing, God will answer prayer;
Keep on believing, never despair;
Tho’ you be heavy laden and
burdened down with care,
Remember God still loves you
and He answers prayers.

Daniel, a man greatly beloved, received strength from God.

Daniel 10:17,19 New Century Version
"Master, how can I, your servant, talk with you? My strength is gone, and it is hard for me to breathe." He said,"Daniel, don't be afraid. God loves you very much. Peace be with you. Be strong now; be courageous." When he spoke to me, I became stronger and said, "Master, speak, since you have given me strength."

David, a man beloved, received strength from God.

Psalm 119:28 NCV
I am sad and tired. Make me strong again as you have promised.
Psalm 18:1-3 NCV
I love you, Lord. You are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Savior. My God is my rock. I can run to him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my defender. I will call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I will be saved from my enemies.

You are beloved by God, received strength from God.

Ephesians 3:16-17 NCV
Paul prayed: "I asked the Father in his great glory to give you the power to be strong inwardly through his Spirit. I pray that Christ will live in your hearts by faith and that your life will be strong in love and be built on love."
Colossians 1:11-12 NCV
Paul prayed: "God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient. And you will joyfully give thanks to the Father who has made you able to have a share in all that he has prepared for his people in the kingdom of light."

Dorothy:
"I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength." Philippians 4:13

I pray that Christ's power and grace be put upon you so that you will be able to do all that God ask you to do. May Jesus Christ appear to you with grace and mercy, and show Himself with much love to you. It is not because you deserved it, but because of His own desire to be faithful to the promises He made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
May God give you strength day by day in Jesus' name I pray. Amen!

Work 'Till Jesus Comes

Song collection:
We'll work ... 'till Jesus comes,
we'll work ... 'till Jesus comes,
we'll work ... 'till Jesus comes,
And then we'll be gathering home.

Jesus said, Occupy [do business] Till I come.
Luke 19:13,16,17
KJV: And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. v.16-17 Then came the first, saying, Lord thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

NCV: So he called ten of his servants and gave a coin to each servant. He said, 'Do business with this money until I get back.' v.16-17 The first servant came and said, 'Sir, I earned ten coins with the one you gave me.' The king said to the servant, 'Excellent! You are a good servant. Since I can trust you with small things, I will let you rule over ten of my cities.'
Note: coin: A Greek "mina." One mina was enough money to pay a person for working three months.

Luke 16:10a
KJV: "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much..."
NCV: "Whoever can be trusted with a little can also be trusted with a lot..."

Dorothy:
Those verses remind me how important it is to be faithful in little things now, and in God's kingdom in the future, we can be trusted to be faithful to do greater things. Jesus talked about little things you do on earth, God can trust you to take a bigger responsibility in God's kingdom. At Taco Bell where I work, I "practice" doing little things that I enjoy helping out because I think about getting myself ready for the kingdom of God. How about you? Are you getting ready for God's kingdom when you realize how important that little things you do are to Jesus?

Let the Lord Have His Way

Collection of song:
Let the Lord have His way
In your life every day.
There's no rest, there's no peace
'Till the Lord has His way;
Place your life in His hand
Feel secure in His plan
Let the Lord -
Let the Lord have His way.

The Lord's Ways
Isaiah 55:8-13 New Century Version
The Lord says, "My thoughts are not like your thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. Rain and snow fall from the sky and don't return without watering the ground. They cause the plants to sprout and grow, making seeds for the farmer and bread for the people.

The same thing is true of my words I speak. They will not return to me empty. They make the things happen that I want to happen, and they succeed in doing what I send them to do. So you will go out with joy and be led out in peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees in the fields will clap their hands. Large cypress trees will grow where thorn bushes were. Myrtle tree will grow where weeds were. These things will be a reminder of the Lord's promise, and this reminder will never be destroyed."

Notes from Preacher's Outline:
55:8 My thoughts are not your thoughts.
God's thoughts and ways are not of the natural person. But human minds and hearts can be renewed and transformed (changed) by seeking Him (Rom. 12:1-2); then our thoughts and ways will begin to conform to His. Our greatest desire should be to so live in conformity to the likeness of our Lord that everything we do pleases the God we serve. We can do this by abiding in His word and responding to the leading of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:5-14, James 1:21).

55:11 Word ... not return unto Me void.
The power and effect of God's word are never canceled or rendered void; His word will bring either spiritual life to those who receive it or just condemnation for those who reject it.

Dorothy: Boy, those notes are kind of tough to understand sometimes. We just have to think and search them out like we dig out the treasure. The Holy Spirit helps us to trust God's working in our daily lives. We may not understand His ways and we need to be reminded that His promises never changed. His ways are better than our ways and many times that was hard to accept. What makes it different was; in heaven He sees everything according to His plan while we on earth, live by faith and we trust God even though we don't see or understand everything. Let the song soften our hearts to trust Him more and more in Jesus' name. I pray. Amen.

The Windows of Heaven Are Open

Collection of song:
The windows of heaven are open,
God's blessing are falling tonight.
There's joy, joy, joy in my heart,
Since Jesus made everything right.
I gave Him my old tattered garment,
He gave me a robe of pure white;
I'm feasting on manna from heaven,
And that's why I am happy tonight.

Enriched in Christ

I Corinthians 1:4-5
KJV: I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in every thing ye are ENRICHED by Him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge.
AMP: I thank my God at all times for you because of the grace (the favor and spiritual blessing) of God which was bestowed on you in Christ Jesus. [So] that in Him in every respect you were ENRICHED, in full power and readiness of speech (to speak of your faith), and complete knowledge and illumination (to give you full insight unto its meaning).
NCV: I always thank my God for you because of the grace God has given you in Christ Jesus. I thank God because in Christ you have been MADE RICH in every way, in all your speaking and in all your knowledge.

Colossians 3:16-17

KJV: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing (encouraging) one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
NCV: Let the teaching of Christ live in you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Everything you do or say should be done to obey Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.

Dorothy: A few things to share with you. The dictionary meaning of "enrich" has impressed me. It means to make rich or richer. Example: An education enriches your mind. The word en means cause to be or make. The word rich means well supplied, valuable, and producing or yielding abundantly. Enrich really means made rich. Holy Spirit brought the word to me "enrich" and I searched the Word of God. I was blessed with the verses that were written above. Let the Word of Christ lives in our hearts. And many songs that I had typed, were to encourage you and me to bring God's presence through the word of the song. The windows of heaven are open when we sing and study God's word. May God bless you today.

I Pray

Poem written by Dorothy Callies in 1985.

Father, the hour is come
Glorify thy Son;
That Thy Son may glorify Thee.

Thou hast given Me power and grace
To accept all the hardships I would face
Eternal life to many as Thou has given Me.

I have glorified Thee on the earth
Since the day of My birth.
I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do.

I have given them Your Word
Out of My mouth, they have heard.
Each word was given and they truly believed in You.

Now, I pray for them for they are Thine.
All Mine are Thine, and Thine are Mine.
Keep them, Oh, Father, from this world at all cost.

I am in this world no more,
But these do and I come to Thee for
You, Father to keep them that none will be lost.

I pray that all of My believers may be one.
I pray that Our desires for them may be done.
That the world may see and truly know Our greatest love.

Neither do I pray for these disciples alone,
But many more who will come to me to atone.
That they may behold My glory and Holy Spirit, My Dove.

Whisper A Prayer

Collection of Song:
Whisper a prayer in the morning
Whisper a prayer at noon
Whisper a prayer in the evening
'twill keep your heart in tune.

God answers prayer in the morning
God answers prayer at noon
God answers prayer in the evening
He'll keep your heart in tune.

Jesus may come in the morning
Jesus may come at noon
Jesus may come in the evening
So keep your heart in tune.

Jesus Prays for All Believers
John 17:20
NIV: "My prayer is not for them alone, I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message."
KJV: "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word."
AMP: "Neither for these alone do I pray--it is not for their sake only that I make this request--but also for all those who will ever come to believe in (trust, cling to, rely on) Me through their word and teaching."
NCV: "I pray for these followers, but I am also praying for all those who will believe in Me because of their teaching."

Dorothy:
Do you realized that Jesus prayed for us almost 2,000 years ago? Today Jesus is our High Priest, our Intercessor always praying and interceding for us. Hebrews 7:24-26a says, "...Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest meets our need..." [NIV] What does Jesus really pray for us about? You could read the whole chapter of John 17.

Sweet Hour of Prayer

Song:
1. Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer,
that calls me from a world of care,
and bids me at my Father's throne
make all my wants and wishes known:
in seasons of distress and grief
my soul has often found relief,
and oft escaped the tempter's snare
by thy return, sweet hour of prayer.

2. Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer,
thy wings shall my petition bear,
to him whose truth and faithfulness
engage the waiting soul to bless;
and since he bids me seek his face,
believe his word and trust his grace,
I'll cast on him my every care,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer.

Paul's Prayer of Thankfulness.
Philippians 1:3-11 New Century Version
I thank my God every time I remember you, always praying with joy for all of you. I thank God for the help you gave me while I preached the Good News--help you gave from the first day you believed until now. God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure He will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again. And I know that I am right to think like this about all of you, because I have you in my heart. All of you share in God's grace with me while I am in prison and while I am defending and proving the truth of the Good News. God knows that I want to see you very much, because I love all of you with the love of Christ Jesus. This is my prayer for you: that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love; that you will see the difference between good and bad and will choose the good; that you will be pure and without wrong for the coming of Christ; that you will do many good things with the help of Christ to bring glory and praise of God.

Dorothy:
This is the final of the four great N.T. prayers of Paul and he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to pray for Philippians Christians as well as for us today. Paul pray that our love will grow more because love for other has a very powerful testimony we could ever give. Also Paul pray that we will do many good things with the help of Christ to bring glory and praise to God.

The song, 'Sweet Hour of Prayer' was a comfort to Paul when he spend time with God and to pray for many churches that he had helped with before he went to prison. Paul's suffering and troubles help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. He wrote several letters while he was in prison. Philippians 1:14 "Because I am in prison, most of the believers have become more bold in Christ and are not afraid to speak the word of God." May the Lord touches our hearts to become bold for Christ.

I Am Praying for You

Chorus:
For you I am praying, For you I am praying,
For you I am praying, I'm praying for you.
Verse:
1. I have a Savior; He's pleading in glory,
A dear, loving Savior tho' earth-friends be few;
And now He is watching in tenderness over me,
And oh, that my Savior were your Savior too.

2. I have a Father; to me He has given
A hope for eternity, blessed and true;
And soon will He call me to meet Him in heaven,
But oh, that He'd let me bring you with me too!

Paul's Prayer for Spiritual Understanding

Ephesians 1:15-23 New Century Version
That is why since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people, I have not stopped giving thanks to God for you. I always remember you in my prayers, asking the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you will know Him better. I pray also that you will have greater understanding in your heart so you will know the hope to which He has called us and that you will know how rich and glorious are the blessings God has promised his holy people. And you will know that God's power is very great for us who believe. That power is the same as the great strength God used to raise Christ from the dead and put him at His right side in the heavenly world. God has put Christ over all rulers, authorities, powers and kings, not only in this world but also in the next. God put everything under His power and made Him the head over everything for the church, which is Christ's body. The church is filled with Christ, and Christ fills everything in every way.

Dorothy:
This is the third of the four great N.T. prayers of Paul and he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to pray for Ephesians Christians and it is still for us today. Paul's prayer for Ephesians to understand what God wants for every believer in Christ. Paul's prayer that the Spirit might work in them in greater measure [1:19,3:20]. Paul's prayer that believers may receive more wisdom, revelation, and knowledge about God's redemption plan for us today and for the future (17-18). Paul also pray for Ephesians to experience a more abundant "power" of the Holy Spirit in their lives (19-20). I pray the same prayer of Paul for you. May this message of God's Word enrich your soul in Jesus' name. Amen.

Note from the Preacher's Outline:
"HIS POWER". In order for the believer to advance in grace, achieve (get) victory over Satan and sin, witness effectively for Christ, and gain final salvation, he must ever have God's power moving toward him (1Peter 1:5). This power is an activity, manifestation, and strength of the Holy Spirit working within the faithful believer. It is the same power and Spirit that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at God's right hand.

Prayer Changes Things

Chorus:
Prayer changes things; Prayer changes things.
No matter how heavy the burden you bear,
If you cast it on Jesus He'll carry your care;
And nothing can hinder the soul that will dare,
For prayer changes things.

Verse:
1. Many problems meet us on our heavenly way;
If we had no Helper we would surely stray;
But our loving Savior bids us seek His face,
Meet us at the throne of grace.
2. "Whatsoever ye desire when ye pray;"
Hear His loving promise, 'tis for you today;
Stand upon His faithfulness; fresh courage take:
"All is yours"--for His dear sake.
3. While you plead His mighty name you cannot fail,
Heeding not the darkness, nor the fiercest gale;
Shadows at His word will feel, and storms be calm,
Sorrows turn to joyful psalm.
[May Agnew Stephens]

Paul prayed that we have the love of Christ inside of us.
Ephesians 3:14-21 New Century Version
So I bow in prayer before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth gets its true name. I ask the Father in his great glory to give you the power to be strong inwardly through His Spirit. I pray that Christ will live in your hearts by faith and that your life will be strong in love and be built on love. And I pray that you and all God's holy people will have the power to understand the greatness of Christ's love--how wide and how long and how high and how deep that love is. Christ's love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with the fullness of God. With God's power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine. To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever. Amen.

Dorothy:
This is the second of four great N.T. prayers of Paul and he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to pray for Colossians and Ephesians Christians and down through the ages, that is us today. Paul was a great intercessor and Holy Spirit often inspired Paul to pray for the Saints in his time. Paul's intercessory prayer for us is that we understand the important of having the love of Christ in us. What impressed me was the New Century Version brought on a new meaning for me, love of Christ. One of the songs collection just came to me, "From Glory to Glory." You might enjoy this.

FROM GLORY TO GLORY [2 COR.3:18]
From glory to glory He's changing me,
changing me, changing me.
His likeness and image to perfect in me;
the love of God shown to the world.--
For He's changing, changing me,
from earthly things to the heavenly,
His likeness and image to perfect in me.
The love of God shown to the world.

When You Pray

Verse:
At the close of the day when you kneel to pray,
will you remember me? I need help every day,
this is why I pray, Will you remember me?
Chorus:
When you pray will you pray for me,
For I need His Love and His care---
When you pray will you pray for me,
Will you whisper my name in your prayer?

When I pray I will pray for you,
For you need His Love and His care---
When I pray I will pray for you,
I will whisper your name in my prayer.

Paul Praying Always For You [Colossians Saints]
Colossians 1:1-9 New Century Version
From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus. I am an apostle because this is what God wanted. Also from Timothy, our brother. To the holy and faithful brothers and sisters in Christ that live in Colosse: Grace and peace to you from God our Father. In our prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, because we have heard about the faith you have in Christ Jesus and the love you have for all of God's people. You have this faith and love because of your hope, and what you hope for is kept safe for you in heaven. You learned about this hope when you heard the message about the truth, the Good News that was told to you. Everywhere in the world that Good News is bringing blessings and is growing. This has happened with you, too, since you heard the Good News and understood the truth about the grace of God. You learned about God's grace from Epaphras, whom we love. He works together with us and is a faithful servant of Christ for us. He also told us about the love you have from the Holy Spirit. Because of this, since the day we heard about you, we have continued praying for you, asking God that you will know fully what He wants.

Dorothy:
Wow, this is a wonderful example about Paul who had heard the good news about Saints in Colosse. Paul listened to Epaphras, who was the minister or pastor of the Church at Colosse and he was so impressed about three things that they had: hope, faith and love. They heard the Good News from Epaphras and it changed their lives. Why? Because of the hope, they had faith and love for others to learn about God's grace for everyone. Paul prayed for them so will you pray for your people in your church like Paul and Epaphras had done? Prayer Changes Things.

Pray, Pray

Chorus:
Pray, pray tho' your eyes grow dim,
Go with your troubles straight to Him;
Pray, pray, for God understands;
Have faith, leaving all in His dear Hands.

1.Pray, pray when things go wrong,
And gloomy fears around you throng;
The loving God your voice will hear,
Look up to Him, He's always near.

2. Pray, pray, be calm and still,
Whatever comes must be His will;
His promises like buds unfold,
Naught that is good will He with-hold.

3. Pray, pray till faith grows strong,
And in your heart rings heaven's songs;
Till self shall die in pure desire,
And every thought to Him aspire.

Dorothy: Do you ever want to learn how to pray? Paul has set one of four examples of his prayer to the saints at Colosse. Epaphras was a faithful minister of Christ to the saints at Colosse. Epaphras went to Rome to visit Paul and they prayed together for his church. Paul wrote a letter to the Saints at Colosse. Epaphras brought the letter to Colosse and read to them from Paul's letter. Both were great intercessors for the church.

Note from the Preacher's Outline:

Paul quoted, "We... do not cease to pray for you." This is one of the four great N.T. apostolic prayers by Paul, spoken under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. From these prayers we learn how to pray for others, such as our children, friends, fellow believers, missionaries, pastors, etc. (cease means stop)

Paul's Prayer for Colossians
Colossians 1:9-14 New Century Version
"Because of this, since the day we heard about you, we have continued praying for you, asking God that you will know fully what He wants. We pray that you will also have great wisdom and understanding in spiritual things so that you will live the kind of life that honors and pleases the Lord in every way. You will produce fruit in every good work and grow in the knowledge of God. God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient. And you will joyfully give thanks to the Father who has made you able to have a share in all that he has prepared for his people in the kingdom of light. God has freed us from the power of darkness, and he brought us into the kingdom of His dear Son. The Son paid for our sins, and in Him we have forgiveness."

Be A Child

Song: God's Children
Praise Him, Praise Him, All of God's children
God is love, God is love.
Love Him, Love Him, All of God's children
God is love, God is love.
Thank Him, Thank Him, All of God's children
God is love, God is love.
Praise Him, praise Him, All of God's Children
God is love, God is love.

Matthew 18:1-5 NVC "Who Is The Greatest?"

At that time the followers came to Jesus and asked,
"Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
Jesus called a little child to him and stood the
child before His followers. Then He said, "I tell
you the truth, you must change and become like little
children. Otherwise, you will never enter the kingdom
of heaven. The greatest person in the kingdom of heaven
is the one who makes himself humble like this child.
Whoever accepts a child in my name accepts me.

Dorothy:
Do you ever wonder about where and how did the question, "Who is the greatest" started? The disciples had competed each other about who would be greatest in God's kingdom. Can you imagine that? They knew who Jesus was and they believed Him that He would be a King someday. So what they competed about was who would be chosen to be the greatest in God's kingdom. Jesus saw this in disciples' hearts that want to be the greatest in the kingdom of God. It is natural for men like disciples to compete each other. I wonder how Jesus had to "solve this competition's spirits" among his disciples. Matthew 18:1-5 explains how Jesus said that they need to become like a little child in attitude, and not to compete with each other. Jesus actually warned them that they could not enter heaven if they do not humble themselves like this child.

What does this applies to us?
I pray that God help us not to have a spirit of "seeking someone better" than others. Study yourself, how do you react to others? Join the 'smart group' and leave out the others who do not 'talk much'? Be like a child who loves and hug everyone and it doesn't matter who. What should I say? Just tell them that God loves them so much and He cares for them. Just bless them. This will uplift them. May God touch your heart to love everyone like a child do.
