Jesus is Your Answer – Manna by Dorothy Callies
Zephaniah 3:17 “The
Lord your God is with you; the mighty One will save you. He will rejoice over
you. You will rest in His love; He will sing and be joyful about you.” (NCV)
Reading over the
chapter three of Zephaniah, it was about the future of Jerusalem. It was a depressed time for Israel and when
everything was dark, God promised “in that day,” when God brings the nations to
a true knowledge of Him, He will restore the fortunes (giving back what was
lost) of His own people (v.20). Even Israel didn’t have all the answers
then, but God in His mercy, they will see all that God had promised shall be
fulfilled. God promised that the Mighty One, the Lord Jesus Christ will save
them.
Even Paul asked God
three times for “a thorn in the flesh” be removed, but God simply gave Him an
answer, “My grace is enough for you.” (Ref. 2Cor.12:9) I believe God speak to me as well as to you
that often His answers is only found in Christ and His grace upon us. There are
many things going on around us and through this we will come to appreciate His
grace even more. We will come to learn that His grace is the answer to all our
need.
Grace is Jesus’
presence, favor, and power. It is a force, a heavenly strength given to us who
call upon Him. His grace is given to us, the faithful believers who have
weaknesses and difficulties for the gospel’s sake. “All you will know that
God’s power is very great for us who believe. That power is the same as the
great strength God used to raise Christ from the dead and put Him at his
(God’s) right side in the heavenly world” (Ephesians 1:19-20 NCV).
Paul’s prayer was that
you will know that God’s power is very great for us who believe. And “it is God
who makes us able to do all that we do” (2Cor. 3:5b NCV). The Lord your God is with
you and He will rejoice over you. Let us rest in His love because He will sing
and be joyful about you. Truly, Christ is the answer to all our need and remember,
God is still on the Throne.
Song: Christ Is the Answer
Christ is the answer to all
my longing;
Christ is the answer to all my need.
Savior, Baptizer, the Great
Physician,
Oh, hallelujah! He’s all I need.
(Lyrics: Emil Balliet, Sing His Praise)
God Is Still on the Throne
God is still on the throne,
and He will
remember His own;
Tho’ trials may press us and
burdens distress us,
He will never leave us
alone;
God is still on the
throne,
He will never
forsaketh His own;
His promise is true,
He will not forget you;
God is still on the
throne.
(Mrs. F. W. Suffield, Sing His Praise)
