Dean Hardy responds to part 2 "As the Scripture has said" about Moses' prophecy that a future prophet will come.
Dean's Devotion:
And God is still speaking through His servants the prophets today.
I was reading this morning in the book of Jeremiah. What a sad, sad story of a people who repeatedly heard from the Lord through Jeremiah and other prophets, but did not pay attention. The Lord still says to us today, “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls ... I posted watchmen over you who said, ‘Listen for the sound of the alarm' ..." Jeremiah 6:16-17a NLT
God is telling us to be very aware of what is going on around us ... stop ... look ... ask ... listen. I am grateful that God has sent His prophets all over the land, but are God's people stopping, looking, listening to what He is saying through them ... are they truly asking with open hearts, 'What is the Lord our God saying to us'? May God have mercy on our souls. I am also thankful for His longsuffering patience with us. May we be alert & sensitive to what He's trying to say to us.
Thanks for your faithfulness,
Dean
