Where
has the past year of 2018 gone by? Where is the promise that the Lord promised
to meet our needs? God met some, but not all. So where is His promises? Why is
He slow? Have you ever felt like that?
Let’s search His Word.
2
Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise . . .” (KJV). “The Lord
is not slow to keep His promise . . .” (NIRV).
Peter
had a reason to write the second letter to those who believe in Jesus
Christ. Peter gave a warning that in the
last day there would be people who would make fun of them and give them hard
time saying, ‘Where is this ‘return’ He promised?’ Meaning when is Jesus coming
again just as He said He would.
Peter
was inspired by the Holy Spirit and wrote to the Christians with more knowledge
of God’s Word and how God plans everything in His time. Peter want them not to forget that “with the
Lord a day is like a thousand years. And
a thousand years are like a day” (v.8). “The
Lord is not slow to keep His promise. He
is not slow in the way some people understand it. He is patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed. Instead, He wants all people to turn away
from their sins” (2 Peter 3:9 NIRV).
So
God has a plan and He is very patience, working on us to come into the likeness
of Christ. One of the character of Christ is long suffering in time of His great
pain through many stripes and through being nailed to the cross for six hours with great agony. Doesn’t
this makes you want to accept “little trials” that we have and be willing to
endure it for Him?
Prayer:
Oh Lord, teach us to pray and be in the fullness of Holy Spirit to endure all
things and wait on You to plan everything perfect in Your time. Thank You, Lord for Peter who was inspired to
encourage us in his letter not to give up so easily, but to continue to trust
in Your timing and Your plan for us. In
Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
So let us trust God today! AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Dorothy

Song: He Cannot Fail
He
cannot fail for He is God.
He
cannot fail, He pledged His Word.
He
cannot fail, He’ll see you through.
He
cannot fail, He’ll answer you.
