Hebrews
10:32 “. . . you endured a great fight of afflictions.”
In
the early morning, I was standing and mediating in the kitchen and waiting on
God. I happened to read Ephesians 6:10-18 from NCV on the paper that was posted
on the cabinet. It was there every day, but
it just happened that I felt led to read it. I noticed something I didn’t notice
before. The word, fight. How do I
explain what got me interested in the word, fight? I studied the word and
pondered.
I
just felt like there’re “wars” in many ways: weathers that brought destructive
forces left people homeless, etc; political talks that causes many jobs on hold;
financially burden threaten many people; in other countries persecution against
Christians for standing faith in Christ; families struggles among themselves;
Christians intimidated other Christians such as “you don’t have enough faith
for healing” or such; and many more.
I
thought, “What’s the answer to all these things?” Ephesians 6:10-18 I quoted
them and sign it. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His great power. Put
on the full armor of God so that you can FIGHT against the devil’s evil
tricks. Our FIGHT is not against people
on earth, but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s
darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world.
“That
is why you need to put on God’s full armor.
Then on the day of evil you will be able to STAND STRONG. And when you have finished the WHOLE FIGHT,
you will still be standing. So STAND
STRONG, with the belt of truth tied around your waist and the protection of
right living on your chest.
“On
your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you STAND STRONG. And also use the shield of faith with you can
stop all the burning arrows of the Evil One.
Accept God’s salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
“Pray
in the Spirit at all times with all kinds of prayers, asking for everything you
need. To do this you must always be
ready and never give up. Always pray for
all God’s people” (End of Ephesians 6:10-18 NCV).
I
am feeling the battlefield and I am praying that we are to ‘endure a GREAT FIGHT
of afflictions.” So I used Ephesians 6 to
put on the whole armor of God and to plead the blood of Jesus over us in Jesus’
name. There’s an encouragement from the
song which I know so well and like to share this with you.
Song: When the Battle’s
Over
And
when the battle’s over
we
shall wear a crown!
We
shall wear a crown!
We
shall wear a crown!
And
when the battle’s over
we
shall wear a crown in the new Jerusalem.
Wear
a crown, wear a crown,
Wear
a bright and shining crown;
And
when the battle’s over
We
shall wear a crown in the new Jerusalem.
(Lyrics: Isaac Watts, Sing
His Praise)
