Pleasant Words

Proverbs 16:24 “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones” (KJV).

Sometimes we hear depressing news and economic crisis from newspaper and from T.V. Sometimes people would talk out of fear about what would happen in the future. The way we talk does have its effect or influence on our spirits. “Their words are a destructive blaze” (NLT Prov.16:27b). “Their words are like a burning fire” (NCV Prov. 16:27b). We become depressed when we hear this or that. It could be very discouraging.

So why not do something different? Why not encourage someone today? “Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body” (NLT). Pleasant words will show in their eyes. There’s a great hunger to hear kind words. Kind words are free. It is a priceless lift of spirit. Holy Spirit is very tender and He can help us with nice words.
