Rose of Sharon

Song of Solomon 2:1
I am the Rose of Sharon, and the Lily of the Valley.

This is the Shulamite maiden speaking; she compares herself to simple wild flowers of the fields, for she is not accustomed to the luxuries of Jerusalem. Sharon is the coastal plain just north of Mount Carmel.

it is possible that the Shulamite or Shulammite maiden was Solomon's first wife from his youth, before he became a King. Shulammite is described in this song as a common girl from the countryside, attractive and beautiful, to whom Solomon was deeply and emtionally committed as one would be to his first love and bride.

Many past interpreters have seen this book as primarily a prophetic describing the love relationship between God and Israel, or between Christ and the Church, His bride. Song of Solomon may viewed as illustrating the quality of love that exists between Christ and His bride, the church.

What does this mean to me?
The verse of "The Rose of Sharon" reminds me of a chorus, Sweet Jesus is like the Rose of Sharon. Christ Jesus wants to be very close to you, to comfort you, and to love you. He wants to heal you so believe in Him as you sing the song, Sweet Jesus. This song would draw you close to His melting heart and you be blessed in Jesus' name. Amen!

Song: SWEET JESUS

Sweet Jesus, sweet Jesus
What a wonder You are,
You're brighter than the morning star;
You're fairer, much fairer
Than the lilies that grow by the wayside,
Precious, more precious than gold.
You're LIKE THE ROSE OF SHARON,
You're the fairest of the fair,
You are all my heart could ever desire.
Sweet Jesus, sweet Jesus
What a wonder You are,
You're precious, more precious than gold.
(Inspiring Choruses)

We love you sweet Jesus!

Dorothy
