The Lord Our God

Verse for the Day:

"The Lord is my strength and song, He is become
my salvation: He is my God ... and I will exalt
Him." Exodus 15:2ac

Prayer for the Day:

Dear Heavenly Father,
I am asking you to make strong us from illness and
also to restore health to those who have been sick last
week. You, Lord, are our strength. You are our song that
lifted us from misery. You are our salvation, saving us from
destruction of illnesses. You are our God. I will praise you. I
will exalt you. In Jesus' name, amen!

Chorus from "Blessed Assurance"

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
(Fanny Jane Crosby, Sing His Praise)

Dorothy: The Lord is my song that lifted my soul to Him.
May the Lord bless you today

Hands?

Good afternoon!

Sept. 11-14, 2012 Fresh Manna by Dorothy Callies

Exodus 4:2 So the Lord said to [Moses], "What is that in your hand?"

Have you ever felt troubled at your own weaknesses, and felt fearful about what the Lord wanted you to do? Do you ever felt like the Lord wants you to do something and you felt "shy" and "anxiety?" What do you think God would do to you? Terrify you for being so troubled? Fearful? Shy? Anxiety? Let's look at Moses' conversation with God. If you read the part about God's call Moses to lead Israel out of bondage at Eygpt. We would gasp (draw breath sharply as with shock) that this was a big step for Moses to do. Then we could understand his "troubled" spirit for this. But do you know what God did? He didn't scold Moses for having the lack of faith. God didn't tried to intimidated Moses. God, in His mercy, did something simple, God helped him to focus something else. So God simply asked, Moses, "What is that in your hand?" (Ex.4:2). "Huh? Why that is my shepherd's rod" Moses would say. God showed Moses that He could use this ordinary staff to perform miracles as a sign for unbelieving people. So Moses' trust in God grew, so did the greatness of miracles God worked through His servant. Wow!

So God is asking you this question, "What is in your hand?" You might say, "God you have to show me what You mean, "what I have in my hand since I am Deaf?"

I'll tell you mine. While we were living in north part of Akron, Ohio on the third floor apartment, we had a small patio. At a distance, I could see the view of hills with lots of trees. While praying, and wondering what's the next to do after we left the Deaf Church in Oct. 2002? I saw a vision, "The missile" shot out of my inner spirit, and it went somewhere. Since that time, I kept that vision in my heart and forgot about it for almost eight years in 2010.

While having coffee with Tony at Dunkin Donut, Holy Spirit brought my memory of "The Missile." He asked me, "What was in your hand when you were typing the Bread Box?" I said, "Blackberry pager." Holy Spirit said, "God has been using your hands to type the Bread Box thru the pager, and that pager was "the missile." You had 200 emails "shooting" through the airs at once and it was done in a few minutes. All the intercessory prayers of "missiles" you have prayed back in Ohio in 2003, had touched many hearts when they read your devotions. It was the "labor of intercessory prayers" and God used "your hands on that tiny pager to reach their hearts, to bless them, to heal them, to comfort them, and to love them. It was as if God was reaching them through your simple hands." I was so impressed!

I shared with Tony at that moment and I was dazed, "my pager is that missile? Who would ever thought of that, but God?" Ohhhhh!

So my friends, what is in your hand that God could use you as a Deaf Person?

Chorus: Jesus Use Me

Je-sus use me and
Oh Lord, don't refuse me
For surely there's a work
That I could do.
Even though it's humble,
Help my will to crumble,
Though the cost be great,
I'll work for you.
(Inspiring Choruses)

Oh, the may Lord bless you really good today!

News About Fast

September 8-10, 2012

Isaiah 58:6 Is this not the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

What led me into this subject, fast? Tony and I had been sick together all week and I thought it was strange because that never happened to both of us getting sick at the same time (Tony on Sunday and me on Monday). (We learned that we weren't the only ones that got sick the same week.) We couldn't eat anything and we drank lots of waters, 7-Up, and juices. We slept a lot, rest a lot and slowly our strength increased. We finally had our first good meal Friday noon, fresh zucchini with onions, and shared a fillet steak (sliced), bought at the store same day.

I had some thinking to do, making requests to the Lord if our being sick and fast together for almost five days serve a purpose? I questioned who were our fasting for? At the same time Deaf Ministry Worldwide shared the news that John Gehm along with five people Deaf Ministry Outreach group were flying out to Burkina Faso, Africa, Sept. 6-18. The team will be reaching out to the Deaf Community.

You know few weeks ago, I had talked to the Lord, "I know there's a reason for Your delay in Your coming. You are not willing that any men should perish before their time (2 Pet.3:9) and that You are waiting for more souls to repent and to accept You. I was wondering if You are working on some Deaf people to turn to You in another part of the world? I prayed that they would be opened to You and accepted You as their Savior. I trust that You are doing Your work even though I don't always know where they are. I just pray that Holy Spirit would be working into their hearts to turn to You before You are coming soon. Help us to do the job of "outreach prayers through the power of the Holy Spirit" that needs to be done in Jesus' name. Amen"

Now I believe, everything serve a purpose on how the Lord leads us to pray for them. These two weeks, the Ministry Team: John Gehm, Robyn Brown, Julie Reis, Margi Morgan, Araya Williams, & Susan White, will be going to Deaf School and Deaf Community every morning and attending two churches. What the Ministry Team will do is to share in drama mostly in using gestures and mime since ASL is different than SL used in Burkina Faso. Now the question was, why? Gary Barrett, DMW, shared a little about the Deaf Community that were labeled as "deaf and dumb"; uneducated; often oppressed/hidden; no chance to hear about the love of Jesus, etc. So the Ministry Team are there to do what? ". . . To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?" (Isaiah 58:6b)

What does this means to me? God cares! He showed me where our prayers go to! Ponder on Isaiah 58:6! Our fasting and our prayers break every yoke upon the Deaf Community and Deaf School and be able to show God's love for them and opened many doors for the Deaf to be able to do things that are impossible for them to do. Thank You Lord for answering our daily prayers for them.

So let's trust God for His wonderful work at Deaf School & Community at Burkina Faso, Africa!

Song: Every Morning

Every morning, when I praise His name.
He is forever, forever the same.
Every morning, when I think of Him on-ly.
He will keep me from being so lone-ly.
Every morning, when I place His Word in me.
His word is so divine and my heart is close to Thee.
Every morning, when I think of Jesus as a friend.
He is with me always, always, to the end.
Every morning, when I felt Jesus on my side.
When there is trouble, I run to Him and hide.
Every morning, I just signed "Good morning, Lord."
I just asked Him, "What's up in Your Word?"
Anything new that I could really learn?
Your Word in my heart, I really, really yearn! (Hunger)
With a closure of this song,
I'll say to You, "That's where I be-long!" ....
Written by Dorothy Callies,
August 31, 2012. Wow! I love this in "ASL" song.
It just came to me spontaneously.

John 21:12 AMP: Jesus said, "Come and have breakfast."

Jesus arose! When the morning came, Jesus was at the sea of Tiberias. Jesus stood on the shore and He saw the disciples trying to get some fish. Jesus called out to them if they have caught any fish yet? None! So Jesus told them to cast the net on the right side of the ship and suddenly all fishes came together into their net. That's when the disciples realized that it was the Lord! Oh, oh! He came again! They were excited to meet Him!

They came to the land and they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on, and the bread. Jesus asked them to bring more fishes to cook breakfast for them and He said, "Come and have breakfast with Me." Jesus was making breakfast! Imagine that! A breakfast for hungry disciples and He was serving them bread and fishes. Jesus took the time to have a chat with them as well as Peter. Story are found in John 21:1-17.

What does that mean to me? Taking time to have breakfast with Jesus and His Word before you start the busy day. This Scripture proved that He took His time with His disciples and even to have breakfast with them. Oh! He cares that much for you, too!

So take time with Him in the morning and trust Him!
