Spiritual Birth 2/8-14/21

08-14 February 2021 – Manna by Dorothy & Tony Callies

Theme: Spiritual Birth, the Evidence (proof).

(From Bible Study revised for Manna) 2/10-11/21

1 John 4:7-8 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He (or she) who does not love does not know God for God is love.”

Everyone born of God has the love of God inside of his/her heart by the Holy Spirit who gave birth into the family of God. Every born-again believer has God’s nature to love. Everyone born of God will bring (bear) the fruit of the Spirit. Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal.5:22-23). Everyone born of God is commanded to love his or her brother or sister (1John 4:20-21). Everyone born of God will have no fear. Perfect love casts out fear (1John 4:18).

The spiritual birth is the work of God the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit helped us to love God first in our hearts when we are spiritually born into the family of God (Gal. 3:26). Only those who have been born from above are able to love God with all their heart, soul, and mind, and loving their neighbor as themselves.

Spiritual birth is a miracle of God’s grace. It is through the Holy Spirit’s “washing of regeneration (we become family again) and renewing (restore, new again)” inside the spirit of a person. Everyone born of God is transformed, changed completely in composition, structure, or character. Transformed is a change in outward appearance.

If you are “dead in spirit,” ask Jesus to come into your heart, your inner spirit will become alive and you will feel something new inside. That is the evidence and a proof that you became a “born-again” believer and your life is transformed.

After you accept Jesus in your heart, all things have become new, including new faith to live by (Rom. 1:17), (1) a new life to enjoy (John 10:10), (2) a new birth that relates us to God the Father (John 3:1-18), (3) a new family to rejoice in (Eph. 3:15), (4) a new name given to us by the Lord (Rev. 2:17), (5) a new hope (1Peter 1:3), (6) a new home to live in (John 14:1-3), and (7) a new power to serve God in this life and in the future (Acts 1:8).

Wow! What a wonderful benefits God the Father has given to those who are born-again believer. His mercy is new every morning. Lamentations 3:23 “They are new every morning: great is thy (Your) faithfulness.” “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed (destroyed) because His compassions fail not” (Lamentations 3:22).

John 3:16 is the most powerful evidence (proof) of His love toward all the people of the world. “For God so loved the world (the people) that He gave His only begotten (birth) Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Calvary, the cross of Jesus is a powerful evidence and a proof to the world how much He loves the sinner to come to Him and to be born-again. John 3:3 Jesus said, “Unless you are born again, you cannot enter heaven.” Listen to His voice, “Come unto Me.” (Matthew 11;25).

Dorothy: Boy, what a message! This is the richest Bible Study I have ever had. The Salvation is so much clearer when you realized what you have in Christ. So I pray that your eyes be opened in Jesus’ name if you haven’t ask Jesus into your heart. But if you did, bless you!!! The angels in heaven rejoiced when you ask Jesus to come into your heart! Proof? Luke 15:10.

Song: A New Name in Glory

In the Book ‘tis written, “Saved by grace,”

O the joy that came to my soul!

Now I am forgiven, and I know

By the Blood I am made whole.

Chorus:

There’s a new name written down in glory,

And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine!

And the white-robed angels sing the story,

“A sinner has come home.”

For there’s a new name written down in glory,

And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine!

With my sins forgiven I am bound for heaven,

Nev-er-more to roam!
