Daniel Prayed 2/25-28/19

25-28 February 2019 - Daniel Prayed – Manna by Dorothy and Tony Callies
Daniel 9:21 “While I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel . . . reached me.”

Poem: Oh, How Daniel Prayed
Oh, how Daniel prayed,
     Morning, noon, and night.
Oh, Daniel prayed, oh how he prayed.
Daniel prayed with all his might.

Daniel saw a great vision
     And it troubled him,
Daniel prayed for understanding,
God sent an angel to clear his dim.

Angel name was Gabriel
     Helping Daniel out,
Seeing all those visions,
     And what was all about.

Daniel asked God for an answer
     About the here and now,
But God has a great plan,
     Simply trust, not thinking ‘how.’

Daniel’s visions’ so overwhelming,
Was really God’s answers had to do
With events thousands of years to come,
Into the future, we’ll know them soon.

So let us pray like Daniel prayed,
So inspired by God’s great future.
Let us prepared our hearts to hear
His Word of comfort and secure.
(Inspired to write by Dorothy Callies Feb. 26, 2019)

God bless you!

Dorothy
Note: I was inspired when I read “Our Daily Bread” devotion about Daniel.  Daniel poured out his heart to God when he had read Jeremiah’s scroll and rediscovered God’s promise that Israel’s captivity in Babylon would last 70 years.  So Daniel prayed earnestly that God would rescue His people and send them back home to Jerusalem.

And then comes visions of future plans, God had a big picture of what is to come. For us, it means that God had already plan to answer prayers, and it is His timing . . . and for us to trust Him!  Just a word of encouragement to keep trusting God.

The Crimson Flow 2/21-24/19

21-24 February 2019 – The Crimson Flow – Manna by Dorothy and Tony Callies

Early Thursday morning on Feb. 21, 2019, I woke up with a song, “Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,” etc.  I searched through the song book, but today’s chorus was different. So I google and found Hymnlyrics.org had this exact song I had ‘heard’ during my teen time 60 years ago. I was amazed how the Holy Spirit brought that song to me to sing it for my devotion time.

Song: Rolled Away
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away!
Every burden on my heart rolled away.
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away!
Every burden on my heart rolled away.
Every sin had to go,
‘Neath the crimson (blood) flow! Hallelujah!
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away!
Every burden on my heart rolled away.
(Written by anonymous)

After that song, I used my technology Bible to search for the crimson flow, but it turned out that I got more through “the blood” of Jesus. It was the first time I put the song and verses together under the “blood” of Jesus. And boy, am I thrilled!

Matthew 26:28 “For this is My blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.  Luke 22:20 “. . . This cup is the New testament in My blood which is shed for you.”  Colossians 1:14 “In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”  1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleansed us from all sin.”  Revelation 1:5 “. . . Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.” Revelation 5:9 “. . . You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your Blood . . .”

Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.”  And finally this verse is the impacted or has a strong influenced that we overcame Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony against Satan.

Thank You Holy Spirit for your faithfulness! Thank You Father that You are blessing to me and to all of us.  Thank You Jesus for Your precious blood that you have sacrificed for me and for all of us.  It is beyond my understanding in all that You, Trinity do.  I just want to thank You and praise You for all You have done for me and for all of us.  In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen!

God bless you and
Keep trusting our heavenly Father!

PS. Please note that I used NKJV and KJV.

Chocolate-Fueled Car 2/16-20/19

16-20 February 2019 – Chocolate-Fueled Car – Devotion by Dorothy & Tony

Psalm 19:7 “The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.”
Quote from ‘Our Daily Bread’ by Dennis Fisher of March 2011:

Many people like both sweetness and the energy they get from chocolate.   Yet British auto technicians have found a surprising use for this sweet food.  Scientists at the University of Warwick have built a racecar that runs on vegetable oils and chocolate.  The fuel provides energy to that car can reach top speeds of 135 mph.
The Bible also records a surprising source of energy from a food.  When Elijah had been used by God on Mt. Carmel to call fire down from heaven, this spiritual high (Elijah) was followed by persecution and melancholy (sad & gloomy mood).
In response to Elijah’s depression, God sent an angel to provide food, drink, and rest for the weary prophet.  The sustaining power of that food from heaven was remarkable: “So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God” (1 Kings 19:8).
Just as we need food to sustain our physical lives, we also need nourishing food for our spiritual lives.  God’s Word is “sweeter . . . than honey and the honeycomb” (Psalm 19:10) and feed our souls.
It makes “wise the simple” (Ps. 19:7) and provides both nourishment and energy for life’s long journey.  Take time to feed on it.”
Key: God feeds us through His Word.

Dorothy: What did I learn from this?  It is a very powerful devotion I have ever seen especially the racecar runs on vegetable oils and chocolate!  I thank God for reminding me how important it is to keep my nourishing food by studying God’s Word for my spiritual life. If God cares enough to send an angel to provide food for Elijah, surely God cares enough to meet our needs! Great is Your faithfulness, Lord! Thank You!

Song: Great is Thy Faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness!
     Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning
     new mercies I see;
All I have needed
     Thy hand hath provided—
Great is Thy faithfulness,
     Lord unto me!
(Thomas Obediah Chrisholm, Sing His Praise)

May the Lord blessed you!

Never Alone 2/11-15/19

11-15 February 2019 - Never Alone – Manna by Dorothy and Tony Callies

Isaiah 43:1 “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.”

Our comfort is from knowing that we are never alone, especially during our "Arctic waves" that came from North toward the Mid-West and some part of USA had threatened many of us. We were confined to our homes. On TV, we saw news of tragedies after tragedies that were really frightening, but knowing that God is with us, really helped us to know that we are not alone.

When He speaks, oh how comforting to hear Him say, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.” I want to share what I noticed from Isaiah 43:1-7 that God will redeem His people. My note wrote “Nation 1948” beside those two verses 5 and 6.  Israel had become a nation in 1948.

Recently, there were news from TV that people were helping the Jews from other countries to return home to Israel.  This man brought out the verses that God had promised to the scattered Jews from all over the countries. It was being fulfilled and still going on.  There were tears in the eyes of the Jews knowing that God kept His Word of promises that He would bring the descendants “home.”

Isaiah 43:5-6 “Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west; I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’  Bring My sons from afar, and My daughters from the ends of the earth,” (NKJV).  The scattered Jews may have felt abandoned, but God had spoken that they are His and said, “You are Mine!” They were never alone!

If God cares that much for His own people, then know that God cares for us as well and that He would never leave us alone, no never! What a comforting Word of God!

Chorus: Never Alone
No, never alone!
No, never alone!
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone;
No, never alone!
No, never alone!
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.

Those are good words of comfort!

Bear One Another 2/6-10/19

06-10 February 2019 - Bear One Another – Manna by Dorothy and Tony

Colossians 3:12-13 “Put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long suffering; bearing with one another” (NKJV).

What start me on with this verses? This Friday early morning of February 8th, I asked God, “What do you want me to know today?”  I was reading one devotion and it had great impact on me.  I wrote to simplify the reading from “Our Daily Bread, Lawrence Darmani.

It was about a group who traveled to a conference in Kenya (Africa). At the end of a conference, the group traveled to a guesthouse to prepare to fly back home (USA) the next morning.  When they arrived at the airport, one person forgot her luggage back at the conference center.  While she left to get it, the group leader sharply criticized her for forgetting her luggage to the group.

The next morning when they arrived at the airport, the leader discovered he too left his luggage with his passport at the guesthouse. Now it was going to cost them even more to go for his baggage. Later, he apologized and said to all of them, “I’ll never criticize so harshly again!” (He can’t fly back to USA without the passport!)

I realized God was speaking to me this morning from Colossians 3:12-13 “Put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, long suffering; bearing with one another” (NKJV).  The word, “bearing” had a great meaning for me, just one word “support.”  Be supportive with Tony.  Be supportive is very gentle and kind.

Oh!  That really touched my heart from God’s Word to encourage me “to be more supportive to Tony.”  I am thankful that God is interested in helping me to grow spiritually to be like His Son, Jesus Christ.

May the Lord touch you and bless you tremendously!

Dorothy
PS. By the way, Tony’s final test came clear of skin cancer and thank you for your prayers.  God bless.

Call Upon Me 2/1-5/19

01-05 February 2019 - Call Upon Me – Manna by Dorothy & Tony

"Call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shall glorify Me."
Psalm 50:15

Want to glorify Him? Just get into trouble! (me, Dorothy, a little mischief) Huh? No way? But trouble comes to us anyway! It is often not our choice to have troubles or when trouble time comes. But you know something?  God just simply loves to help us. He says, "Call to Me in times of trouble. I will save you, and you will honor Me" (Psalm 50:15 ncv). Actually, our calling to Him makes Him feel honor.

The Lord simply invites all of us faithful believers to call continually upon Him in times of need and trouble. God desires to hear our prayers to help us, and have His name exalted as a God who rescues His people. This is where our testimonies come in to tell others what He has done for us. We made God happy!

So God said, "Trust Me in your times of trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give Me glory" (NLT Psalm 50:15).  Praise God for His Word to us so trust God today!

Song: I'm Glad I'm A Christian.
I'm glad I'm a Christian,
     I'm trusting the Lord;
I'm reading my Bible,
     believing each word.
The past is forgiven
     from sin I'm set free,
A mansion in heaven
     is waiting for me.
(Inspiring Choruses)

Dorothy:  I never get tired hearing this verse many times: Call unto Me! If you know about the Old Testament the story of Judges and how many times the Israelite have forgotten God and God causes the enemies to bother them until the Israelite called upon God to help them.  And God send a Judge to help them to turn their attention to the Lord once again and God would give them victory over their enemies.

Isn’t this awesome God who are so willing to answer when He said: “Call unto Me and I will show you great and mighty things which you know not” (Jere, oaj 33”3).

May the Lord Bless you today!
