August 2016 - God’s Words Are Forever – Manna by Dorothy Callies
Isaiah
40:8 NKJV “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of God stands
forever.”
The
commentary notes from Full Life Study Bible:
“The word of our God shall stand for ever.” All created life is fragile
(easily broken or destroyed) and weak and will ultimately (completely) come to
an end. But God’s word endures forever.
God’s promises will be fulfilled; His redemptive truth cannot be
annulled (cancelled) or changed.
His
redemptive truth means His redeeming plan has already been set up. Jesus is our
Redeemer. He bought us back from what Satan had stolen from Adam in the first
place. The Bible reminds us that people are like grass that withers, and flower
that easily fades, but God’s Word is our promise and that includes healing . .
. There’s a song that seems to impress me so I like to share it with you.
Song:
The Bible Stands
(Written by Haldor Lillenas, Sing His Praise)
The
Bible stands like a rock undaunted (not afraid)
‘Mid
the raging storms of time;
Its
pages burn with the truth eternal,
And
they glow with a light sublime (shine).
Chorus:
The
Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble; (fall suddenly)
It
will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble; (break down)
I
will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For
the Bible stands.
The
Bible stands for every test we give it,
For
its Author is divine;
By
grace alone I expect to live it,
And
to prove it and make it mine.
Chorus:
The
Bible stands though the hills may tumble;
It
will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I
will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For
the Bi – ble – stands . . .
May
this Manna encourage us to hold on to “what our God says will stand forever.” Let us trust God today!
Dorothy
