Casting?

I want to share what really helped me
understand why we need to exhort or
encourage one another daily.

Casting all your care upon Him, for He
cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 4/8/10

It impressed me how anyone even any ministers
can become depressed and that 1 Peter 5:7,
God's Word has the answer. BUT. . . . .

How do we cast our cares to God? The word CAST
is like you throw yourself into the arms of God
who cares more than you do. Give it over to God.
Ask for His help. Search the Scriptures. God has
a promise for you.

Dean Hardy shared his other meaning on "Casting."
One way I've illustrated 'casting' is to use the
word in the context of fishing ... When we cast
our line we must let go of the line & let it fly
free. Just in the same way we need to 'let go' of
all our worries, cares, concerns, etc & let it fly
to Jesus where He takes them upon Himself. Dean

All the more reason is for us to trust God today
because we need to believe that God does care.

Does Jesus Care?

Casting all your care upon Him, for He
cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Charles Spurgeon was an old time preacher and he
told a story to his students the dangers of being
discourage and depression in the ministry.
Depression would hit mostof the ministers. "The
strong are not always vigorous (full of energy),
the wise not always ready, the brave not always
courageous, and the joyous not always happy."

Charles Spurgeon told a story about Rev. Frank
Graeff who was born in 1860. He was called,
"Sunshine Minister" because of his radiant
personality. The children loved him.

But as Spurgeon said, "the joyous are not
always happy." Frank faced many heartbreaks
that shattered his spirits, and found himself
in the new experiences, the valley of deep
depression (sadness, feeling low, gloomy),
and despondency (loss of courage or hope).

After a long time being in deep shadow,
darkness, and low in spirits with sadness,
he collapsed (fall in) into the Everlasting
Arms of God. He was singing "What a friend
we have in Jesus, All our sins and grief to
bear, what a privilege to carry, Everything
to God in prayer." The truth of 1 Peter 5:7
suddenly took hold of him and Frank wrote
a song "Does Jesus Care?"

O yes, He cares; I know He cares;
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary,
the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

My summary on the meaning of the word, "cast."
How do we cast our cares to God? The word CAST
is like you throw yourself into the arms of God.
Give yourself over to God who has the power to
help you. This is awesome when you think about
it. Trust God. He cares.

The Father Ran

"When he was still a great way off,
his father saw him and had compassion,
and ran ... and kissed him." Luke 15:20a

Do you sometimes ever felt like you
were far away from God? Does He care
how you feel right now?

Look! Remember the story of a prodigal
son. Jesus is the only One who knows
what is in His Father's own heart.
Jesus told this story to you what
kind of God He is right now.

Your Heavenly Father saw you acting
shy and too embarrass to come close
to Him. And you might say, "I am not
worthy."

Still your Heavenly Father "ran" to
YOU! Your Heavenly Father "hugged"
YOU and "kissed" YOU! Why? Because
you are forgiven through Christ's
blood and God welcome you into His
arms of loving care! Oh yes, He cares!

Oh, just trust your heavenly Father
today!

Rest From Sorrow

"The Lord shall give thee rest from
thy sorrow." Isaiah 14:3a Bread Box

Sorrow takes up much strength and
energy so it is important to rest
from sorrow. How? "Rest in theLord,
and wait patiently for Him and fret
not thyself ..." (Psalm 37:7a).

Rest means do something refreshing
that will give you joy because "Joy
of the Lord is your strength and He
is your life" (Nehemiah 8:10).
Fret not means do not worry or wear
yourself out over little things.

So it is important to trust
the Lord right now!

Someone asked about this and I thought it would be good
to reprint this for weekend Easter time. I add the names
of writer of the songs. I apologized for not having that
names before.

Communion Song
I just had communion at 4 a.m. this early morning. Why?
Because I want to remind myself through my eyes of faith
on the cross of Jesus and claimed the blood of Jesus and
the healing power for my body. Jesus said, "Do this in
remembrance of Me." We have communion often so
we would not forget His promises.

Many times Tony and I would sense "wilderness" experience
and often we felt uneasy (not comfortable with blank
feelings) and often we wondered why we are here. There
are time we felt so "quiet" and we were not used to it,
so we have communion with a communion song to remember
Jesus' word, "Remember Me". His Word assured us that we
are still His children and it was His plan for us to be
here in Bloomington, Illinois.

I thought you would like to see the Communion Song that
Tony and I used it often just to hold on to His Word,
"Remember Me". There may be times you might go through
the "dark time" or "wilderness experience", I encourage
you to try the communion and the song. The song uplift
us and peace follow through when we remember His Covenant.
We choose one of two songs at each communion.

A Quiet Spirit

Verse for the Day: I Peter 3:4
". . . a meek and quiet spirit which is
in the sight of God of great price" (KJV).

". . . a gentle and quiet spirit which is
of a great worth in God's sight" (NIV).

After a troubled day of April first, today
God revived me with this verse of 'a gentle
and quiet spirit.' He restored me and helped
me to remember to:

"Be still, and know that I am God ..."
(Psalm 46:10).
"... ye study to be quiet, and to do your own
business, and to work with your own hands ... "
(1 Thess. 4:11).

A quiet spirit set these things aside and put
them under control by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord for reminding us
to put our trust in You!

Midst of Trouble

"Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
thou wilt revive me." Psalm 138:7a

My heart sunk like a ship went down in
the ocean. Do you ever felt like that
sometimes?

Then I took out the verse card. I was
surprised to see the word, "revive."
Where have I seen this word before?
A song! So I look it up. So my heart
needs to be revived?

The word revive means bring back or
come back to life. 2. bring or come
back to a fresh, lively condition.

Only God can bring back what was 'lost'
in our heart toward Him. Only God can
restore us again so let us pray.

Prayer: "Lord, even when I have trouble
all around me, You will keep me alive.
When my enemies are angry, You will reach
down and save me by Your power. Lord, You
do everything for me. Lord, Your love
continues forever. Do not leave us, whom
You made" (Psalm 138:7-8 ncv).
